only on paper at this point. have to wait and see how they fit into adelman's system and have good chemistry.
The US hasn't suited up a complete A-squad since 1996, so stop with that excuse. Nobody let the U.S. use it the last seven years. Drop Duncan and Garnett in the post and it's an average 60 point margin of victory.
Yes, Duncan looked great in 2004. USA has the best players in the world, who doubts that? But they are not unbeatable anymore. Anything could happen. And in FIBA bbl, against Greece, Spain or Argentina there would be close matches.
I was wondering why there was a WNBA player on the court, then I realized it was actually Mike Miller.
i know team usa has to have some affirmative action and have the obligatory white player, but isn't there someone out there that is better than mike miller?
No, Duncan on a team of second tier good-but-not-great NBA all-stars was not a world-beater. Kobe is the difference maker. My Duncan and Garnett comment was in reference to you busting out the missing players excuse, which, need I remind you, NOBODY allowed the United States to lose in it previous sub standard world game performances. Not so nice having the shoe on the other foot, is it?
Its not an excuse... I mean you are winning by 16 against a B team of Argentina. You have to win the big thing to claim you are the best. USA hasn't won anything since 2000.
I don't think Duncan and Garnet ever wanted to play on this squad anymore. It's their own choice, unfortunately.
That's a shame. They've only been around 20 down most of the game and they played without their best player for the whole 2nd quarter. I would have liked to have seen them do all they could to win against the best team in the world. They're only down 15 now and they've played half the game without their best player. Resting in this game is weak.
