This ^ we as fans should take it as our responsibilty to step on our players faces before the game starts to get them pumped. Who's with me?
I just think it's ridiculous we're on a Rockets fansite and there are Rockets fans bashing a Rockets player who just got stomped on the face. This is why I can't take people seriously when they say things like "This is the best sports forum on the web!" and such.
Scola did get a shot back in with 3:20 left in the 3rd, not sure exactly what he did but Love was pissed and ended up on the ground. Looks like he palmed Loves face with his hand and pushed him to the ground. Am i the only one that saw this?
Not the first time he gets stepped on either... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cT2bH--_iUc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> But come on, what good comes out of fighting for the sake of fighting? You end up getting ejected and losing the game, like Artest in that Lakers game. I'd much rather get back at them by winning, as someone else already said...
would you call jesus soft? no! he could turn water into moutain dew if he wanted, but chose to spend a tnt post season in the desert. It just shows what a rarity scola is. all that said, Mctalky should still put out on a contract for Love in the next game. Hasheem or Adrien should carry it out. Hasheem would probably screw it up though.
Hmm... am I the only one that saw Lowry step right in and go for a block on Love? Although it end up as a foul. And even drive straight into Love, but love just move away. Then after a fast break from Rox, scola just barge into Love pushing love out of bounds. Basketball is a game of contact, dirty or not, accidents do happen. But its just too bad our enforcer is our 6"0 PG.
if you have a real pair, you should not go after Love, bring it to Stern to get all the people behind this punished. if the league ignore that particular play then send a message back to the player.
The mistake Ron made here was not grabbing Kobe by the jersey as he walked away and yanked him forward as shattered his face with his fist! Lowry should have pounced on Fischer and started swinging until someone pulled him off! I don't ever want to see those assholes walk out of a game with a smirk on their face! Odom, Kobe and Fischer all have the bratty teachers pet, I can get away with anything attitude. The only reason the league ejected Fischer is because it was too obvious of a foul. Fischer was over there like, "Yeah, I got busted but man I really let him have it didn't I guys! Hee Hee Hee!! See ya after the game!!" The truth is the refs were doing and have been instructed to do everything in their power to have the Lakers win. I say, that being the case, stomp their asses in the ground and see how much the refs can do for them in the next round!! If Lowry had pulled that move on Odom instead, the announcers would have been trashing him calling him garbage and unfit to play the game!! Fischer does it and he is "silently one of the toughest players in the league!". Another thing, did you see the way the ref went over there to apologetically tell Phil Jackson and Derek Fischer he was out of the game??? WTF IS THAT???? The corruption in this league is so transparent it makes me sick!!!! I know this is old tape but man it gets me raging mad!!!
Kobe is such a douche! I no longer watch the NBA is because of crap like this. Those incompetent or crooked reps missed the entire incident completely..amazing!!! Emperor Stern still pretending there is nothing wrong with his product!
Scola doesn't look for a fight, but he don't take crap either. I hate fake NBA tough guys who always start crap because they know an actual fight isn't gonna happen. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0ByVkblKl3E?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0ByVkblKl3E?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object> I like the way scola rolls, don't get in someone elses face before they get in yours. He doesn't get in fights but I've never seen him back down when challenged.
Wait, did I just read someone say Luis Scola is soft? If Scola needs to grow a pair, then the threadstarter needs to grow a brain. Didn`t you see Scola attempt to give Love the cold shoulder on the next play down on the fast break? He tried to shove the **** out of Love but didn`t wanna make it too obvious. Scola is the ultimate competitor who doesn`t lose his cool. The reason Love did that crap in the first place is because he was frustrated that Scola was too physical on him. Thats why teams covet players like Ron Artest. IMO McHale should have inserted someone like Thabeet in the line p just to throw some hard bows at Love.
A few things on this: I believe love would have not apologized if the wolves did not win. I have a hard time believing that a grown as man did not see another grown ass man on the floor and could not avoid stepping his face. Scola reaction is strange. If the stomp on your face was accidental and did not make you mad, you shouldn't be mad that a call was not made. Now, if the stomp was deliberate or "accidental" but you got mad. Then act like it bothered you, get a tech or play harder, but don't just sit there with a confused look in your face.
He said he thought Love was intentionally trying to foul him on that play, and the refs didn't see it. On the stomp, he's saying he doesn't know if it was intentional or not. If it was unintentional, then there's nothing to complain about, right? Having watched the replay a few times, I think Love made a hard play for the ball, and its not clear whether it was clean or not. Its possible that Scola flopped to the floor on that play (and he did flop just on the prior defensive possession while Love was working over the Rockets interior). Maybe Love got annoyed by that, and that's why he stepped on him.
