Dude, cool vintage clips, but.... you're not foolin' me! If that was Scola than where are his long flowing (fresh from Jiffy Lube) locks??!!
It was a regular one handed dunk. I don't think ESPN is as fascinated with Scola's first dunk as Clutchfans are.
Go to Yahoo Sports game highlights Cavs v Rockets and you can see it there among the other highlights.
Hi, i am from Argentina so I read a lot of Our Newspapers, Ginobili has a column in where he writes down his thoughts about the NBA each week, in his last one he dedicated a paragraph for Scola in which he assured that the NBA has not witnessed yet 50% of what he can do. What do you think? will Scola live up to Manu´s expectations or not? will the rockets give him that 3rd Scorer title that any player needs to wrack it up offensively?
i was hearing on the radio that they run plays for him. i say he needs to just take over when he feels he should. we wont need him to a star every game, but there will be games when he needs to take over. He already brings a lot of heart and hustle. But you have to remember this is still the NBA, he's still adjusting. He's getting there, but I cant wait until he does. The third scorer title is there for the taking.
When Scola threw it down, I was completely stunned! Half of me was saying, "OMG, that was a huge flush!" The other half of me was saying, "Why the ... haven't you done that before instead of missing those easy layups?"
I remember when Ginobili first came to the league that Pop had a talk with him after he missed an easy layup where Manu said that Pop told him "You always try to dunk when you are open cause´ this is the NBA" that was when Manu started dunking more frequently. Maybe Adelman said the same to Scola after those missed layups.
With Yao and T-Mac getting so much attention there's no reason he shouldn't be getting double figures every single game. He can bury the mid-range jumper and he's got an arsenal of post moves. I don't think he's peaked yet--I'm thinking that we could see some monster games out of him this season.
Agreed, I think Scola can literally just take it when he is out there. He is also a solid go to guy when T-Mac and Yao are on the bench. If Scola averages 13-15ppg in the play-offs I really think we can get out of the first round.
Haha! Looks like he barely got to the rim, like one of those supposed monster dunks from Melo where it looks like he barely gets his fingers above the rim! Good dunk regardless, he should look to posterize everyone!
HUGE scola fan here... i watched quite some of his games b4 he came to houston. i truly believe we've not seen all of what he can do yet. much more to be expected. and i've full confidence. morey once said something like "that's why we signed him for 4 years for..."
