Not surprising. However, the team needs to move him to make room for either a better big man or the youngsters behind him.
I really love Scola...in fact...i dont mind if he stays...just that we have to find a way to get a center...he really has given Houston a lot...but...the way things are going, the Rockets are not letting anyone keep their chairs warm...everyone knows there is a revolving door in Houston
This is how I feel about the scola situation. I'm Arya (obviously). Scola is my faithful hairy companion.
Scola is such a good dude. Plays his heart out and loves being a Rocket. Still stays after practice to get better at 32 years old. Helps Parsons and the other young guys get better. Tells them to STFU and work at practice...Love, love, love Luis and I’d want him to retire a Rocket if we still had Yao. But we don’t, we have 10 other PF’s behind him that need to develop. Just trade him to a good team please, I don’t care if we get less compensation for him as long as he goes to a good situation. (Martin can rot in Charlotte for all I care).
Now it looks like I am the only one on this thread that doesnt support this move, at least not this year. We have all these PF's but with our injury prone history, and Scolas near-injury proof career and over all fairly dominant play this seems like an awful idea. Sure he is old, but I say give it a year to teach these younger guys and see how they do. I dont want to feel at the start of this season we have 8 Kwame Browns (SP) on our team while trading away our efficient, vetern Forward. Not in support of this move, I hope we keep Scola
Tough seeing a situation like this where someone who we need to cut ties with actually wants to stay while most guys want nothing to do with us. Especially with. Such a great guy like Luis.
Scola does not need to be starter. This guy will do well off the bench and should be kept because he will help the so call young PFs that need to be developed. I hope Scola does not get traded he should let be to retire a Rocket.
Scola is seriously my favorite Rockets player. But the team needs to create playing time for the young guys, and Scola is a valuable trade chip since he could help a number of contenders. I will root for Luis, whether in a Rockets jersey or not.
Well, if he wants to stay, can't he get his agent to renegotiate his deal with Morey? I don't know. Just asking.
