Hi Seth, good to have a fellow countryman in this forum. Agree with all your points by the way. I hope Scola adjusts to the league as fast as possible, especially on the defensive end.
One thing I like in particular about Scola is he never fades away when posting up. It's pure aggressive attack-mode and he will turn, twist and do whatever it takes to make sure he's moving TOWARDS the basket when he puts up the shot. I wish Yao could do this.
20-11-4 today its a shame that we lost, but this games will for sure help us to insert a well needed 3rd scorer on the team.
Finally..... I was wondering when they would run some post plays for Scola. Scola is very deceptive in the low post. He can get a shot for himself or for others because of his court awareness. Time for Rockets to take advantage.
It's only fair. I'm tired of it happening against us all the time. You just look at the smug faces of the Spurs and you know they believe that they are the best team in the WORLD because their top players (Duncan Parker Manu) as well as a good chunk of their bench are composed of people born outside the US. It's long past time for us to wipe that smug look off their face. Scola is the real deal and more: if he's not the second-best player from Argentina by this year's end, then he should be disappointed in himself.
With Scola's fearless heart, we will pass the 1st round finally. Scola just showed why he is always a winner!
I have a theory that Scola doesn't play well with Wells in the game, and vice versa. Time to start him?
In case you guys missed the photos that I posted in the other thread, here are photos of the new home favorite, Luis Scola at Toyota Centre in team shootout practice before the game with the Phoenix Suns.
I'm glad we have a flopper on the team too lol spurs have manu mavs have dirk and the jazz have their whole team lol
I really hope Scola will start over Hayes soon. My reason is our start lineup with Alston-T-Mac-Battier-Hayes-Yao is a little bit offensively challenged. If Scola starts, it gives one more scorer in the lineup. It will make the life easier for T-Mac and Yao because there is one more scorer to space the floor. So, they can set the tone of the game better in the offensive end from the start of the game.
I think that Scola should be used the way the Pistons used McDyes time ago, let him be an off the bench first scorer, this means that he is on the court sharing some time with both starters and subs but when the subs are in he has to be the focus of the offense. What would like is starting him for some games so that he boost his confidence and became what he was in europe.
