Damn and we didn't get anything for Thibodeau. We should have at least gotten someone like Eddie House for him.

Exactly, he's a fav just because of his attitude, at a game recently he went out of his to take pictures with a family. Didn't him & Carl join the team around the same time, maybe he feels like he's lost a friend he's grown with, but I think Scola maybe one that makes friends easily. Should be intresting on the 3rd.

That's because Scola is just expressing himself.

When Tracy behaves like a drama queen on and off court, posting like a sane person would be acting out of character.

Last time around, No Layups host David Nuno confirmed with Scola that he writes his blog entries out in Spanish and the website gets it translated into English and Chinese.

And personally, I think McGrady at least has a hand in his website posts, though there's no confirmation.

Uhh... hello people... we had to give a draft pick to get Jeff Van Gundy. It wasn't that long ago. That was the first I heard of this rule, but I'm surprised people are forgetting so soon after it happened.

According to ESPN, Scola was almost traded to Suns. I would rate Morey's trade as C if the trade with the suns really went though. I do not think we really need that trade right now, and shall wait for a better trade or no one.

Scola doesn't write his blog. He gets people to do it for him like all athletes.

Link? I've been led to understand that he does do his own writing.

My thoughts exactly. I began to wonder, "Did Scola write this en ingles, or does he write it in Spanish and someone translates it for him?" Either way, muy impresivo. (And if someone's translating for him, then they screwed up the waive/wave. But I'm not a spelling/grammar Nazi, so I don't care.)

And with his last name being Scola and his being Argentine, he may speak/write Italian, too. Not bad for a ballplayer. (Hell, not bad for anyone.)

Must have been tough for old Luis to see Landry being dealt. There really was a Scolandry friendship, apparently. I wonder who T-Mac's friends on the Rox were?

(Oh shoot, that's for another, non-GARM thread. My bad.)

I wonder what Brian Cook's send-off was like? Did anyone even care?

Battier pens, edits all team correspondence

Shane Battier, co-captain of the Houston Rockets basketball squad, was recently seen huffing and puffing his way down the court in what he called a “spirited bout” against the New Orleans Hornets.
In a post game interview Battier detailed why he looked so tired on court and attributed it to extra duties assigned to him by the Rockets organization and former players.
“I think I was tired from staying up last night,” he said. “And the night before that and pretty much most of the past two weeks. [Daryl] Morey asked me to help write some witty stuff for his next interview on 1560 and Mac was begging me to look over his goodbye blog entry. In fact, I pretty much had to rewrite it.”
Battier, chuckled to himself, adding that the note contained several passages he decided to delete because they went “too far.”
“Mac said some things about how he might shut it down again for the year and I thought that maybe I should leave that surprise for the Knicks AFTER trade deadline,” Battier said, grinning. “You should have seen how much I had to edit when Brian Cook came with his goodbye memoirs outlining his exploits and thanking the city for all the help with his projects aimed at giving back to the Houston community.”
Coach Rick Adelman said he believes the reason for people using Battier’s supreme writing and editing skills is because he was one of the few on the team that actually focused on classes and basketball in college.
“Well, obviously he went to Duke, so he had to actually do some school work,” Adelman said. “Let’s give the guy some credit. He can write extremely well and doesn’t include phrases that make no since. Between the guys who grew up in Argentina, China, Australia, Africa, New York, this guy is one of the few people in the league who writes legibly. Though don’t discount Yao, he has been know to craft poems on a whim and they’re actually pretty good.”
Battier said from here the team should be done with writing now that he’s gotten finished teammate Luis Scola’s blog entries and Tracy McGrady’s blog. Now he’ll have more time to focus on shooting three pointers from the corner and taking charges.
“The only thing I regret is that I could not help McGrady more,” he said. “He sent me an e-mail yesterday and I sat out of the shoot around to go over some pointers on the proper use of the semi-colon with him via Skype. Unfortunately the conversation ended shortly when he said he was shutting it [his laptop] down.”

"Trading a coach" didn't make sense until he used an example. He's talking about a team having to provide compensation for coaches they want to hire who are still technically under contract. I wouldn't really call that trading.

The "trading a coach" part could subtle humor that's lost in translation?
