Scola is a win win guy for sure, everything is all hustle, and the fact that he doesn't encourage the annexing of another country is a bonus.
Closest thing to "news" I can add... Scola's been training with Obras Sanitarias (a team in the Argentine league) and has expressed no interest in playing for the Argentine league - he said if at some point he feels the lockout has been going on for too long he'll probably go to Europe instead. In the mean time, he played a couple of friendly games this weekend for a team of "stars" of the Argentine League (+Delfino) against local teams. They beat Quimsa 97-87 with 29 points from Scola and OlĂmpico 85-76 with 27 from Scola. There's a Youtube video recorded by a fan, though nothing interesting happens in it and it has the most annoying audio: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QlMbL3iZBnw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Here's an article (in Spanish) about the first game in case you speak said language or enjoy looking at pictures like this one: And here is one about the second game
You know in a way the lockout could probably do some good for Scola considering his typical hectic off-season schedule.
