not to mention has the most polished low post game of any Rocket ...and dare i say it??? YAO MING INCLUDED!?!?!?! Nah, not yet ...the guy is still adjusting, so keep that in mind
W2M here, first time posting in forever man ive missed lurking...anyways on to the topic. Luis Scola has without a doubt been a catalyst for our offense. People say he "fills spaces and gaps" well but I say he does one better, he creates these spaces and gaps. Getting him started early increased one thing...the entire Rockets offense spacing. He is our chris webber, he does the same thing for adlemans system. Webber had a sweet sweet jumper, decent post moves and for a bit...hustle and rebounding. Scola made RAs SAC offense come to life. With Chuck in the line up, Defenses had to worry about only TWO offensive players. Battier could be a non factor outside of the corner 3, Alston bricks so much he built Mutombos hospital and Chuck couldnt lay a ball up if he was practicing alone on a 4 foot goal. Scola creates the space he "fills" well by his overall game, and that fact alone for a rookie puts him above almost everyone in this years rookie class. Thank you Scola for everything you bring to the court.
I agree 100%. He has a very sophisticated team offense game (finding spots/openings, making smart passes) and a really advanced individual offensive game (Good jump shot, ability to drive, lots and lots of solid countermoves). The one thing i don't agree with....you describing someone as Scola's bodygaurd. I watched some of the Pavlik/Taylor fight last night...and if it was both of them and Chuck Norris vs. Scola...I'd still pick Scola. The man needs no bodyguard.
