Arguably he played Carlos Boozer an NBA all star to a draw in that first round, in fact he held Boozer to .429% shooting for the series Scola proved himself, now as he gets comfortable I expect we will see even more improvement.

that was why i argued that even if yao was healthy, i doubt he played more than 25-30 mins a game. the defense we played on boozer was just ridiculous. boozer looked like a scrub at tiems and moreso looked like a good player.

Scola will be "The 3rd Scorer" for this team, book it. At least until the trading deadline.

You know the Rockets wouldn't have a chance to upgrade until then. Scola will be off the rookie list so the Refs won't just mess with him as much.

Yao will be back, allowing him to go 1 on 1 much more. He won't have to carry the load in the low block like in the playoffs (Please Yao, no more major injuries).

Scola is going to wreck major havoc on other teams. Would any team double team Scola, if both Yao and TMac are on the floor? Scola is going to have a great year. At least 17 pts and 8 reps. But more importantly, he will allow Yao to rest more.

I don't know if he will be able to be that good, but I do think he is most likely to be our 3rd scorer rather than Landry.

I agree, but what some people expect from a 3rd scorer around here is just bizarre.

The projected numbers from Scola supporters just seem to me to be logical. And if those numbers pan out we're looking at a player very much like McCray in his early years.

Scola doesn't have the hops or the jets, but he has intangibles that don't get much run here compared to Battier's.

I will support a thread to "predict scola" next year, but i think it is safe to say that his numbers will be around 14/7 with about 50% shooting.

Luis isn't the athlete McCray was, but McCray wasn't as big, either. McCray didn't rebound as much, but was a better defender. Scola isn't the passer McCray was, but hopefully will improve as he gets more comfortable. I think Luis will beat Rodney's best scoring average as a Rocket this season (a little under 15 per game).

Of course, they play different positions. ;)

Quiz... what was the most famous pass Rodney McCray ever made?

Didn't he throw the in-bounds pass to Sampson on the famous tip shot to beat the Lakers?

Greatest shot in Rockets history. Except for perhaps Mario Elie's "Kiss of Death" in Game 7 of the 1995 Western Conference Semi-finals against Phoenix.

I know, but in terms of a 3rd scorer I think Rodney was legit, and I completely believe Scola will produce points at a simiar level or better.
