It's relevant in that the agenda one side is pushing is the same agenda being pushed Russia meddling in American affairs. Surely that says something...
I said it was relevant, but worthless. That side doesn't care. You are pointing out to them that they side with Russian trolls and they shrug their shoulders and laugh.
So are you suggesting that we rip up the constitution and ban all guns and on top of that waive a magic wand to make all guns disappear? I was sticking to reality. As to Australia, they don't have the culture of gun violence that America does, they never did.....so you are comparing apples to basketballs. Yes, that it reduced the crimes committed with the banned guns, but overall it was worthless because they just used different guns and there was no decline in lethality. How is that any different than what you were doing? You were saying that your gut told you that an assault weapon ban would be helpful, but the recent assault weapon ban in this country proves that to be inaccurate. Common sense should tell you that pushing an assault weapons ban is idiotic given that the facts have proven it to be ineffective when done in this country. .....but not here, which is the only relevant sample. Really? The fact that it's a non starter given that there is literally no chance that the constitution would be successfully amended in order to strip gun ownership rights is something that leads to that response? LOL, okay. My point was that you are wasting your time talking about something that has literally no chance of happening.....so maybe you should spend your efforts elsewhere. See, this is where you struggle, England and Australia are not similar to America at all when you talk about gun violence culture. That's either something you can wrap your mind around, or it's not. This actually made me laugh out loud, I'm not sure if you did it on purpose, or if it was an accident, but you chose a chart with cherry picked stats in order to make your case....that's just hilarious. Your chart intentionally eliminates every country with more gun related deaths per 100,000 people because that data would run counter to what narrative you are trying to sell.....also, interestingly enough if you took the same numbers for the US but subtracted a specific hyper violent 13% of the population the gun related deaths per 100,000 people drops more than in half and the guns per 100 people rises..... Common sense would tell you that gun violence has more to do with culture than it does the mere existence of guns.....but that doesn't make for as good a narrative I guess.
Shifting gears for a second, let's pretend for the sake of conversation that museums across America were being targeted by people who would go in and destroy as much priceless artwork and historical relics as possible before either committing suicide or being stopped by police. How many of those attacks would happen before museums across the country drastically increased their security to protect the artwork and whatnot inside? Just a thought.
prevent not just bad guys with guns but bad guys without guns and bad guys who are just stealing your stuff. I have no desire to stop people from using guns for such purposes. Neither should you. The fact your study combined them in incredibly dishonest. No. It showed that a country that has alot of guns uses them. Which is blatantly obvious. It disregards why it was used. which is moronic. Let me tell you what happened in that study. They used homicides first (the correct metric) and didn't get the result they wanted, then they used gun homicides and probably still didn't get the result they wanted. They had to get all the way down to 'gun deaths', a metric most countries don't keep because its stupid.
I don't know, I don't think it is really all that odd considering the history of these shooters, the recent history. The person coming forward about this is the leader of the group. I'm not sure why he would lie about that, and if he's lying about it to kind of brag about what they are capable of...well...that sounds pretty similar to what ISIS does, doesn't it? There are also posts online with his name that reveals the racist drivel that these types spit up on the internet. I think it's likely anyway, he could be a white nationalist and did it for some other motive as well, that's entirely possible.
We already have armed officers in most schools... Including this shooting. I wouldn't mind at least two armed officers always near and on the premise of a public school.
Museums have cops and so did the school that got shot up. Thank you come again. Oh and what would have been your plan for the Vegas shooting? armed guards on the ground with sniper rifles returning fire at a disadvantage? Like I said, You choose the Constitution of the lives of hundreds of people. Just say it.
I think the safe assumption here is that the group came out before the FBI would find out themselves which would be not a good look for them. The whole Trump Jr. tactic .
Each day we argue over what the Second Amendment said or did not say... or argue whether an AR-15 is an assault weapon or rifle... or whether people will obey new gun laws... the NRA wins and children attending another school will be shot. its time to take action...
I think so too, they are getting out ahead of it, but reading the story also made me feel like he was slyly bragging about it too. It felt close to a "This is what we are capable of..." when he started talking about how efficient Cruz killed. That story was short and didn't mention it, but this one has other quotes... https://www.thedailybeast.com/nikolas-cruz-trained-with-florida-white-supremacist-group-leader-says
