“Yes, Watson is under contract through 2025 because of the $156 million extension he signed six months ago, but teams cut players under contract all the time. Now Watson wants to cut the Texans and start over with a new team. And that’s what the Texans should do.” “The Texans are rebuilding, anyway, and even though they don’t want to trade Watson, it’s time to move on from him and start over with a new quarterback.”
The problem is that he's worshiped uncritically by a large number of people simply because he is good at sports. It's a big part of the reason OJ Simpson got away with murdering two people. Asking those kinds of people to set aside their hero worship for a second and look at things more objectively is clearly asking FAR too much. Is Watson an absolute scumbag for how he's handled himself? Of course. Is the Texans franchise a well run organization? Of course not. There's really not much more to say. Hopefully the Texans force Watson to live up to the contract he signed, if he really wants to be a little b**** he can always retire. I think that scenario would be the most positive for everyone involved.
Today, the Texans say Watson is not available, but who knows what tomorrow will bring? For the Texans, it needs to bring some sanity. If it doesn’t and they let him sit, it could be a decision that has repercussions for years. How will letting him sit have repercussions for years? They need to retire this clown.
"burn me once - shame on you. Burn me twice - shame on me" LOL @ Watson being the clown. Curious what does that make Cal McNair and Jack Easterby? Barnum and Bailey?
Its really not about Deshaun or OJ. LOL. The real problem is that Cal worships at church Easterby, and until he changes his Easterby worship, The Texans are totally screwed. The isn’t qualified to have the position he holds, and yet he is king now.
If Watson wasn't throwing a b**** fit, the future for the Texans would look bright. Watson's BS is by far the biggest problem the team has despite the narrative from Watson apologists
You’re very likely going to have the worst record in the league either way. Hell, Watson had a career season and they still only won four games.
I kinda found this take more interesting: Another interpretation of the D4 tweet is he's saying he's gonna be loyal to the franchise.... maybe? Who the heck knows (besides Future)?!
Considering how little he's said publicly about any of this, I'd be SHOCKED if this was him being loyal to us
Him not speaking on anything allows him to play the "I never asked to be traded" card if he does end up staying a Texan.
The Texans org has been like this long before Easterby. Easterby's actions have just brought it to light. Easterby is only carrying out Cal's wishes.
Watson has proven that he's not loyal to anyone. Not to the franchise, not to the fans, not to his teammates, not to anyone. He's only concerned about his current whims..... which is why is ridiculous that some people twist themselves in knots trying to defend him.
