This is what I'm talking about. I have absolutely no faith the Texans get this right. What evidence is there to suggest they would?

Forgot the first one, Watson tearing his ACL immediately after they won.

Turn your station. None of the locals are worth listening to.

Create a list of the most Christian NFL players out there and you will find the next crop of Houston Texans - no cap.

Only thing I’ll weigh in @Bobbythegreat is that Watson DOES deserve input.

In our comparison to non-sports Jobs , if you are truly at the top of your field your employer needs to take your input into the equation . If they don’t and you start to feel disrespected You generally look for another job and walk away .

It’s a bit different in the NFL (with contracts etc) but asking for a trade is equivalent to quitting for some other professions .

sure , the compensation is through the roof . Nfl team’s profits are through the roof .

I don’t think he’s “tanking the franchise” if you’re franchise is done because one player leaves then it wasn’t good to begin with . The Texans will still make profit , people will still go to games .... and if they don’t , can we really say it’s JUST due to Watson ?

had the Texans not sucked for many previous years and had more success then fans would be willing to cut the team a break over one move they dislike .

The Team itself is awful , even with Watson here .

if I’m the Texans brass I’m trading Watson for a ridiculous amount of 2’s and 3’s . Gimme
    4 2’s , 3 3’s and 2 4’s . High picks in the NFL are extremely overrated.

build a Sick team and get a game manager QB or a veteran QB that’s leaving an undesired situation . In the last 5-10 both manning and Brady were available (among a couple of others ) ... or take some
QB shots in the mid-rounds .

having a franchise QB gives you a higher floor every year (unless your team is historically bad ) but you can win without a Pat Mahomes if the rest of your roster is good enough . You just can’t have a bottom 10 qb.

The problem is the best players left were picked by Rick Smith and that was 3 GMs ago. If they had a bunch of picks and squandered them then you're just GIVING AWAY a franchise QB.

Oh, and please for the love of God let me see him CHOOSE to go to WFT and hear people on here rant about MAGA, slavery, racism, bad ownership, etc. as being why he wanted out.

I think you need to include one thing. Watson was representing the entire locker room as well. At least that is what was reported. He was the locker room's representative for the GM search. So it isn't just a slap in the face to Watson. It is a slap in the face of the entire team.

"Schefter reports that Watson did not expect the Texans to hire any of the names he suggested, but he wanted the team to at least contact them out of respect for him and his teammates, whose interests Watson was representing. Watson also reportedly did not get an opportunity to meet any of the final candidates before the hire was made."
