Fwiw Steven A just said he’s hearing DW4s team didn’t leak the trade request the Texans did. Do they really think they can spin this into it not being their fault?
Aaron Rodgers was upset when his team drafted a backup QB in Round 1 and a RB in Round 2 of the 2020 draft. Did he sulk, go on social media and trash the team, and demand a trade? No, he picked himself up, dealt with his emotions maturely, and went out and delivered an MVP season. On the other hand, Watson encounters ONE SEASON of adversity, after the Texans won the division 4 out of 5 years, can't handle it, and demands a trade (after trashing the team publicly). What a contrast in character and the ability to overcome adversity between Rodgers and Watson. Rodgers would make a great Navy SEAL. Watson, well... he has a great sense of fashion.
Not really. How many players in the NFL are playing on multi-year contracts? A larger percentage than you're suggesting. By "anyone," I don't literally mean "any player." I'm not really interested in arguing semantics, so let's stay focused on the point at hand. They 100% should. Accountability ought to swing both ways.
At this point you can only laugh. The Texans are about to be the Browns from the last two decades. I wish our fans would just not bother showing up to any of the games. If the Houston fans buy the merchandise or go to the games at this point you are enabling this franchise to keep making the same dumb mistakes. The only thing that can save the Texans at this point is new ownership.
As bad as the Texans FO is, I don't believe Screamin'A at all. There's been stuff been leaking for over a month.
did they trade adams for DJ. one team actually has some talent around their qb. the other team well... Rodgers has guys like adams, jones, tonyan to use. Meanwhile watson has......
Aaron Rodgers was gifted an offensive savant who has taken that team to 2 straight NFC Championship games. The dumb mistakes the coach made even had Rodgers on the trade rumor mill - with him going so far as saying "nothing is absolute" Know what the owner did RIGHT AWAY??? Shot down any notion that they will be moving Aaron Rodgers. Lucky for Aaron and Packers fan that team has a future unlike the Texans who will be the laughingstock of football for the foreseeable future. "shut up and thow the ball and show the team your subservience" right?
What repercussions are there for Watson? He's got a no trade clause, so he can pretty much nix any trade the Texans make if he doesn't want to go to a team. The only repercussions are if he sits out and starts getting fined or suspended, but if the Texans cave, he'll get to go to a team of his choosing 5 months after signing an extension that hasn't even kicked in yet.
He already has money, and he knows that he will get money again. There is no good end game for the Texans by keeping him while he sits out. They will not want a QB that doesn't want to be there.
Yup, if they continue to not trade him. No one is going to deal with the already dumpster of an organization.
Nah, my guy. How about "work through adversity and act like a professional." Not every year starts out successful -- it's what you do about it that develops your character. When the going got tough, Watson just cut and ran. Took the easy way out.
