Deshaun Watson will be a Training Camp. He is not sitting and losing money. He also is not going to lose a season this early in his career. Texans cannot and will not trade until the offseason at the earliest (league probably wouldn't approve one). Let the FUN begin.....
Like oiled up ass. In all seriousness, if he plays, I'd be willing to bet he'll play well. He'll need to recover some of his value and that's by far the best way to do it.
I think he’s saying that the distractions will have gotten to him mentally and he won’t be able to play well
then why would anyone want him? he’s in a tough spot I guess… all of his own making of course. it’s not just having some value - sure even if he plays bad a team will take a flyer but he has to entice the Texans to want to trade him. It’s losing a season this early in his career. Nothing is guaranteed. A missed season is bad. A poorly played season is just as bad if not worse. if I’m him I either sit or play my best and keep asking for a trade.
Funny how at draft time posters on this MB always seem to say teams do background checks so they know everything about these prospects. Things that avg fans like us dont know. I guess this isn't true. The McNair's knew the pervert was doing something not right before they re-signed the Pervert. See: The Hopkins trade and DW4, Hopkins complaining about Easterby having P. I.'s following players around. BTW, Hernandez past was well documented before Belichick drafted him.
If there's one fan base that is impervious to any sort of outside influences impacting their desire to buy tickets, buy merchandise, and tail-gate... its the loyal Texans fan base (the ones that actually go to games and don't really follow the rest of the league). Would equate them to another faction in society where you could seemingly incite a coup that threatens democracy, and everybody wants to forget about it just 5 months later. Deshaun's actions would be forgotten by whichever team he's on the second he scrambles to avoid a sack and throws or runs for a TD. Its unfortunate, and I'm not saying it condones any of his actions, but this is the type of persona that buys season tickets and continues to go to games. I'm sure there's plenty here who have given up their tickets and sworn off this franchise for good... but there's still at least a 20k waiting list and somebody is ready to take their place in the stadium.
I think its hyperbole both ways. 2 years ago it was at least 30k. I know of people who'd been on the list 6 years who finally got a call to consider purchasing going into that season. Maybe there's been that much turnover in the last few years. Technically, its easy to get tickets for every single game if one really wants to. All the season tickets do is make the parking pass option a little more consistent and of course you get your same seats (and option to purchase tickets to other events throughout the year), but there's not that much advantage to it as one would suspect. Which still makes me question the people who've continued to renew year after year since the franchise went into existence.
A better sports analogy would be how fans vilify the Astros yet they were salivating at getting Springer or the thought of Correa.
Yep... or how fans of other teams don't boo former Astros from that 2017 team who are on other teams now (Marwin on the Red Sox, Reddick on the D'backs, Springer at the rehab clinic). Yet they will boo Alvarez, Tucker, and Brantley... guys who were nowhere near that 2017 team.
