but there’s a possibility - maybe as high as 40% - that the right trade of Watson would not only be the better path for the team... but the better path for his legacy as a GM. like the way I think about Rafael Stone. He’s attempting to make lemonade out of lemons and if he remotely succeeds - so far the moves are at least logical - it will speak highly of him as a GM. Casiero has the same opportunity
That’s what happens when you become friends with a snake like Easterby. He will sell you a vision just to use you for his own benefit. He likely screwed Caserio career long term but at least he has job security.
You don’t have to suit up as far as I’m concerned he can just sit there on the bench and a hoodie for all I care
Hear me out, again again. The raunchy four way, even Liberty University board members and grads would faint at this proposal. Mahomes comes to Houston to experience the patriots way first hand. Aaron Rodgers goes to Seattle where his high brow humor is appreciated. Watson goes to Green Bay to carry on a legacy. Wilson heads to Kansas city were he is throwing to wide open air all day. That sound good? Win win for everyone except Mahomes who goes into depression and retires a couple years down the road.
Mahomes is not good enough to succeed in Houston. He would be roadkill by game 6. Needs a good OL and tons of offensive weapons. (poking that bear!!)
Agree but this is assuming that Caserio has the green light to make a trade. Found it interesting that JJ said he went to and was granted a release by the McNairs, don't think Caserio was even mentioned. I would think that a prudent GM, especially one with a considerable lack of draft capital, would at least want to entertain offers for him. Yet it sounds like the decision was already made. Think it's a real possibility that Cal is the one set on digging their heels in on DW4. That is conjecture though. One thing we do know was that Cal's introductory presser was an absolute joke and that he didn't even bother showing up to introduce Culley. I certainly think the "bad ownership" is one aspect of the job Caserio may have underestimated.
It's amusing if you separate your emotions from it though. Kind of like a case study in how not to run a professional football franchise.
Yeah, for sure. If Cal is a moron (we all think yes, lol) and meddles too much (hard to say but potentially) then yeah, it doesn't matter in any way, it will be a sucky job, lol.
"They've not given up on making things work with Deshaun Watson." But since Jan 2nd of 2021 they've been doing the opposite with their actions.
