I still can't believe this has happened. It's surreal. Houston just cannot catch a freaking break.

NFL.com is saying that he might not miss the whole season and may come back.

9 weeks if we get a bye. 12 weeks if we make the SB. I'm still holding out hope.

With such big news such as this, it makes this bye week that much bigger. Matt Leinart may not be the best QB in the world, but how good is it to have Arian Foster, Owen Daniels, and Andre Johnson watching your back? If this defense can play to its potential and stop people, this season is nowhere near close to being done.

"The patient’s foot was placed in a fracture boot, and he was assigned to strict non-weight-bearing status. He was then referred to a foot and ankle surgeon, who took him to the operating room 4 days after the injury for open reduction and internal fixation of both the medial cuneiform fracture and the Lisfranc dislocation. A cannulated screw was placed from the medial aspect of the medial cuneiform across the Lisfranc articulation into the base of the second metatarsal. A second screw was placed across the medial cuneiform into the middle cuneiform (Figure 2). The patient was instructed to remain non-weight bearing, and his foot was put in a cast to immobilize it. He was then given a fracture boot to wear for 6 weeks. He was gradually weaned from his fracture boot without difficulty. The hardware was removed 19 weeks after surgery. At 42 weeks after surgery and 22 weeks after removal of the screws, the patient was asymptomatic and was given permission to participate in all activities without restrictions. He participated in preseason conditioning without incident and was planning to compete in the regular season."

If there is no other options then we are looking at Schaub missing all of 2012 preseason and not being ready for at least the first 2 weeks of next season.

Man, just gotta pray that he will be back in time for the playoffs.

Texans are the only thing we have going for us this year, especially with no Rockets for the forseeable future.

The irony of the timing of this injury is DaDakota's post count is at 79,999 right now, and that is why he hasn't turned this thread into a QB debate. Apparently, he's got sumpin else planned for 80,000

We DO have to rally around this team right now. 100%. We have to believe that fate is not dealing us a death card...we're actually going to show the critics out there that the TEXANS have the best TEAM and we're not a one-man show like the Colts are.

We can lose our top defensive guy. We can lose another guy in Danieal Manning too. We can lose AJ, We can lose Foster. We can lose Schaub. But we're still going to beat YOUR ASS even without those guys. In fact, this year is the year that the "Texans are soft" label gets ripped up and shoved up Michael Lombardi's ass and the tattered edges that hang out of his ******* are lit on fire.

I believe it. I think Kubiak is fed up with it. I think his kids are fed up with it. I think we utterly SMASH the Jags and the media talking heads explode and ooze all over the floors of the ESPN studio because they just can't believe the Texans are relentless like zombies. You have to hit us in the brain to kill us, or we will chew your face off and snack on your guts.

This is what Cush needs to tell the guys.

Schaub out for the season and HillBoy, of all people, shows up with a positive post?

All the sudden, I'm not feeling so bad about all of this...

I'm curious why the Texans are waiting a week for Schaub to visit the additional doctors, unless it's a swelling-related issue. Seems like if Matt is done for the year, you'd want to find out and announce it ASAP so the questions cease and you can move on with Leinart as the guy.

I'd imagine it's related to swelling. It would be hard to get a really clear picture of the swelling goes down.
