Anybody still arguing about 2007 pro bowl injury alternate selection in 2010 either pro or con = mutual fail.
Congratulations to Matt Schaub. He deserved it based on his on-field performance, and now that he's going to a Pro-Bowl, I think the national media will give him his due starting next season (much like they did with Mario).
And he just keeps getting better and better with each season. Anyone that tells you schaub isn't a leader, well, that person doesn't know a thing about football. Sure, he has that private Kyle look in his eyes, but schaub can make things happen. Most importantly, his teammates believe in him. It sucks that he will be labeled "injury replacement", when in reality, he deserved to be in the pro bowl from the start.
He deserved to be there in the first place. Guy has been a gift from heaven considering the guy he replaced. His arm is amazing, and his reads. I'm a huge fan. Can't wait till next season, Texans have won me over as my favorite Houston Team. Followed by the Rockets and Stros.....tied I guess.
If the Colts make the Super Bowl and Peyton Manning doesn't play, Schaub will probably play a lot as Rivers' backup.
No kidding, if Manning goes to the Super Bowl, they're down to basically the 3rd, 4th, and 5th choices at QB. Who takes his place? Flacco?
Close but No Cigar! Rocket River . . . I think If I am an injured in the ClutchBowl . .you can be my Matt Schaub . . .er . . .replacement
Brady and Manning not playing would mean Rivers starts. Schaub backs him up. Roethlisberger was the 4th alternate but he is out with an injury. Don't know who the 3rd alternate is, but that will be the 3rd QB I suppose.
At that point, it'd come down to Flacco or Palmer...gross (I don't want Schaub as an "alternate" to be in the same category as Flacco or Palmer who will be let in because of the requirement for a 3rd QB to play--I assume) For that reason...go Jets!
I don't think they name a third alternate, that's why I was wondering. You're basically picking from Flacco, Palmer, Kyle Orton, Mark Sanchez, or possibly even Vince. Illustrates how big of a joke this pro bowl is, especially having it the week before the SB.
Yeah I don't think having an All-Star game between the CG's and the Super Bowl is a good idea at all.
