no when someone says something stupid like hey they forty niners can win with kapernick as if schaub can do things kapernick can do because he has had some above avg regular seasons it gets under my skin. that person is missing the freakin point. and kapernick is such a bad example because the niners had the nad to bench their version of schaub for a dynamic youngster who can make plays schaub never could.
I have no idea what you're talking about... Are you suggesting Kaepernick leading his team to the Super Bowl is unique...? Because I'd argue his opponent is *exactly* why no one should just flat-out assume Schaub can't lead a team to the Super Bowl. The 9ers deserve an incredible amount of credit for sticking with Kaepernick. But, again - Smith had almost no skins on the wall. Gutsy, gutsy call, and I admire the heck of it. But it's not like they benched an in-his-prime Joe Monatana. They benched a guy who was terrible for six of seven seasons.
Sorry, bear with me.. are you now comparing TJ Yates to Kaepernick? Because other than the two of them both starting the season as back-ups... there isn't a single similiarity. One looks to be very, very good and was drafted accordingly; the other is mostly mediocre and was also drafted accordingly.
kapernick played as a rookie, what was his rating, what was yates's. kapernick has a much bigger arm than alex, yates same with schaub alex smith was having a better season than the reg season allstar named matt
The Texans don't have a Colin Kaepernick waiting behind Schaub. Kaepernick was drafted to be the starting QB, Yates was drafted as a backup. Besides having a little more mobility than Schaub, Yates doesn't offer anything else.
........................ I quit. If you're suggesting we have our own Collin Kaepernick, Jr, buried on our bench... I'm done. You're coming from a place I don't understand and never want to visit. Where's Donny? I'm gonna go join him in his Schaub-free Zone of no Schaub. (Presented by Memorial Hermann Hospital...)

we have a guy who posted an 80 rating thrown into the fire and has a stronger arm, BIGGER NUTS, and just as many playoff wins. man all those regular season wins though, i don't think yates could have done that. that really helped us.
exactly, not to mention everyone pretty much agrees that without significant improvements outside of schaub, the offense is stagnant. as major stated, what is easier, to improve about five starting positions outside of qb, or just have a better qb. well with prematurely handing out the ext now they have to go the harder route
Schaub only seems to be exceed Yates in what .. . .decision making? Which is something one gains through experience Arm Strength: Yates or Schuab? Mobility: Yates or Schuab? Accuracy: Yates or Schuab? Decision Making/Experience: Yates or Schuab? Pocket Presences: Yates or Schuab? I have Yates Yates Schuab Schuab Yates Accuracy and Decision Making are learned skills? Rocke River
its all about the salary cap, you don't give sixty million to qbs with mediocre physical skills older than thirty. that's a recipe for disaster
Yates went .500 with a team better than the current one. He didn't exactly impress. I didn't see anything from him that would make me thing he would become a starter Because he was a 5th rounder and the texans had no backup QB. He is definitely not ready to take over. If he is the starting QB, I would HOPE we could make it to .500. If they are serious about making a QB change (which Kubiak definitely isn't obviously), I would draft one in the 2nd round
why would draft a rookie in the fifth round to be a backup. that makes no freakin sense. you sign rosencopter to be a back up. you guys don't know football
The 5th round is usually when you draft backups, not sure where you heard otherwise. Sage was dealing with injuries and having a difficult time making any NFL roster. There was no way they were signing him.
Why did the Skins draft Cousins? Because they didn't want Rex as a backup, or the remote chance of being a trade chip. Mid round QBs are usually projects instead of heir apparents.
totally different situation, their starter is a rookie. what you guys are basically saying with your opinion of yates is that if schaub got hurt, kubiak was willing to give up the season. you aren't making sense
no one says Yates is a bad backup, we just said he isn't a starter. And if NAY team loses its starting QB, the season is more than likely lost except for rare circumstances
