I can't blame Schaub as much as many fans are with the defense giving up long touchdown drives all game long.

The offense had one turnover, and that occurred in patriots territory.

The Pats last touchdown was the only where they had a really short field.

The defense fizzled. 42 vs the Pats in Week 14 and 41 today.

As sad as this statement is.. I find it kinda true.. "Matt Schaub might have been the strongest Texans performer today.."

Also, how many 3rd and longs did the Pats convert? Way too many. Wade Phillips and the D came up small.

Schaub was one of the better Texans today...throw blame around all you want, but the fact of the matter is that it wouldnt make a difference if we had Brees or Rodgers back there...when your defense gives up 41 points, its hard to win in the NFL. That's a fact.

Did Schaub play amazing...no...but, he wasnt nearly the worst player on the field today. I can point to about 8 defenders that were worse.

This was Schaub's game to shine, and he didn't.

    He was decidedly average.

The running game was DOA, and he could not overcome that.

If your QB cannot get you more than 13 non-garbage time points against a below average defense, it's time for a change.

The defense played poorly, but even if they held the Patriots under 30, we weren't going to win that game with our inability to run the ball and Schaub's lack of playmaking under such circumstances.

They fizzled as the game went on, but I would have liked to see Schaub and the offense actually take advantage of the early opportunities. Along with the Casey drop, they had three series on the field and forced the Patriots to punt their first two possessions and got nothing but a field goal out of it.

And that's with Manning's opening return, putting them on NE's 12 friggin' yard line.

You can't screw up those opportunities against an offense like the Patriots.

Yup. And honestly matt had a decent game and threw some lasers but when we needed, absolutely needed, a clutch play he couldn't deliver.

    Remove Brady from the equation
New England uses something similar to what Peyton Manning did in indie
They have a nice short throw offense that can move down the field
    but
They under utilized Arian out of the back field
this would have helped Schuab alot [this is on Kubiak and Schuab for not finding him]

There were several plays. .. Schaub escaped the pressure . . .had at least 2~4 more seconds
but he just threw it away early. . . .he panicked
He felt pressure that was not there a couple of times.
Shaub could not make some of the throws

That QB draw was a f***ing joke
I hope that was not a true call

Worse yet, 10 of those 13 points had nothing to do with Schaub. The first 3 was all special teams with the offense not gaining any yards (though not Schaub's fault here). The first TD drive was all Foster runs - Schaub didn't even throw the ball, if I remember right. He certainly was good in the FG drive before the half, of course.

We shouldn't have blitzed on third down, period. When we didn't blitz, our coverage was great. Tom Brady tears blitzes apart.

Regardless - he took advantage of what they did give him and, in 30ish seconds, got the team 3 points. The odds of them scoring a TD in 30 seconds were minimal at best, regardless of what defense the Patriots are playing.

Am I alone in thinking the Texans are ALWAYS the most effective on offense when they're running a no huddle?

Well, Schaub did overthrow an open Andre in the end zone. Though if Casey makes his catch on the prior play, it doesn't matter.

Well when do they ever run no huddle? To close out the half?

Side note : Did Walter even play?

They run no huddle only when it is necessary, which is part of why it's so damned frustrating. Kubiak doesn't like the no huddle because it is riskier and it tends to hamper the running game. Time for him to change.

    Schuab throws and INT
    next play?
Brady goes for the juggular and into the endzone

If the situation was reversed . . Kubiak runs the ball in to the line
He would not let Schaub goto the endconze.

I still cannot help but wonder how much better Schaub could have been
if kubiak game him MORE FREDOM
