You realize that Flacco shat the bed when it comes to sustaining drives, right? He choked on 3rd down a ton, and when he had a 3rd and 2 on the Broncos side of the field in OT, with a chance to win the game, he ate a sack. He made a couple of really nice throws to Pitta and Boldin to extend drives, but those were the exception to his play yesterday, and not the rule.

I'm not going to argue that those bombs to Smith and Jacoby probably aren't happening if Matt is under center, but you also have to realize that if Matt is under center, the Ravens probably aren't having to rely on the worst defensive play in Bronco history to get to OT.

Heck, one of the worst defensive plays in NFL playoff history.

I thought ELITE QBs like Manning and Rodgers, never played bad in primetime, I
thought an elite QB like Peyton, didnt throw pick sixes, and threw a very bad pass that was the INT that almost sealed the game for the ravens.

So, before a lot of people said: Peyton has a 11-win streak, he is soo great, why the texans didnt want him!!

Now instead of manning choking (once again) in the playoffs, you talk about Flacco.

And one more thing, if the Patriots lose today, all the elite QBs, not going to be in the superbowl.

last month, saying something like you need a elite QB to go to the superbowl!
or a defense like the 85 bears, 00 Ravens, or 02 Tampa Bay.

a qb like flacco, schaub, cant lead a team to a superbowl!!

Anybody that said those things about Peyton didn't follow his career. His playoff performances have often left a lot to be desired.

Funny that flacco's name is being tossed around because he is in the same category as Schaub, I.e top 1/3 QB in the league.

People ( esp ravens fans ) argued if flacco could be the QB on a championship but his flaws were not physical. He's got all the tangible qualities, but he lacked good decision making, game managing and is very inconsistent in his accuracy.

Again, this thread should be closed because people are just seeing the words "elite" and not understanding what the point was/is

yeah matt has never made throws to win or put the team in position to win. infact, i'm calling it right now, he will never ever throw for 300 yards!!! How can he if, if "713" looks more athletic than mark schobrej!???

Jesus, the haters really don't understand quarterback play. Give matt a semi clean pocket and he delivers. "But he can't extend plays!!"
No sh**, but the way kubiak engineered the line, the scheme is designed for clean pockets. And on most sundays, they do a great job at, except they took the last 2 weeks off. It happens sometimes.

2008: 4,500 yards ( projected yards if not taken out by fatty and florence)
    2009: 4,700 yards
    2010:4,370 yards
2011: 4,000 yards ( projected yards if not taken out by fatty)
    2012: 4,008 yards

You just don't throw for those numbers with a high completion % not knowing how to play quarterback.
The most impressive thing is he has done it with a 1,5oo yard rusher twice. As to "y we no call for more pass plays in the RZ?" go back and look at how denver ran their offense once in the redzone. and that was with a Hall of famer at qb!

Usually, It would be Rod smith, mccaffrey and Shannnnooon up and down, till they got to the redzone...booom...terrell davis(repeat for 20 tds.). I laugh when these jokers say we don't pass it in the redzone because Kubiak doesn't trust our Qb.

    As for flacco,
I like flacco. When schaub carved that defense and our defense obliterated their line, I said I would still resign him. as it was mr. blindside that looked like he was staring at red balloons in the sky and mr mckinney who was probably drunk that game. But in the playoffs their line has pulled it together and are playing extraordinary football.
How the line goes the quarterback goes, and having a running back like a foster or a rice should not diminish the accomplishments of the qb.

Having a system that also features a running back offers so much protection for the Qb. The problem is fantasy dorks want to see qbs throw it 55 times like the jaguars game. =/

Just so we're clear on dumbass Schuab-hater logic; it's your contention that Manning, Rodgers and Brees are "dog****" now? Cuz all three of them failed when it counted this year.

Wow, I was unaware that the regular season doesn't "count". Let me go check something...nope, all 16 games counted even the ones from "3 months ago" and the other 12 that Schaub won.

And I guess last week doesn't count either.

I know, I know...the truth hurts, so Schaub haters find it easier to pretend it never happened.

this guy growing some nuts on the internet calling everyone stupid.. FOH..

first off that was a bootleg, there is no pocket when schaub rolls out, second, he got blindsided, he wasnt standing tall in the pocket, he got hit from behind he didnt even know mays was coming.. he saw the tackle in front of him, he knew he had time to get rid of the ball before the DT in front got there. had he seen mays barreling down on him, he would have went down before mays arrived.. i think ive only ever seen schaub evade a sack once in his entire career.. that was this year against baltimore on the walter td.. i even praised schaub for making a play.

the only frustration from that play was champ baileys foot conveniently knocking the ball out of dres hands to save the TD..

the problem is you guys think we are rooting for schaub to fail, you are wrong. most of us realized years ago maybe schaub isnt good enough. you guys can go back to earlier in the thread when we were talking about flacco being better than schaub , it wasnt just because of yesterday..

you can post youtube highlights all you want, we know what schaub has done, and we know what he CANT do. all these highlights are, are flashes of greatness, at schaubs age you need to have more than flashes to have success.. flashes are something that gets you excited about a 2nd year starter, not a 9 year vet..

But that's the fatal flaw, conquistador! It's the SYSTEM!!

All the other ELITE QB's are drawing plays up in the dirt while Schaub has to rely on a SYSTEM. Hell, Flacco wasn't even drawing up plays in the dirt yesterday. He just took the snap and MADE THINGS HAPPEN!!!

Can't argue w logic like this. Obviously you're right... I mean who cares if all those other qbs have led their teams to superbowl wins, schaub beat a bunch of teams during the regular season... Good enough for me! Now that you mention it, why do we even have playoffs??? They should just crown the champion to the team w the best record at the end of the season. Granted schaub would've failed miserably at that too but we would've gotten pretty darn close and as you and I can def agree, fans should be plenty happy w that!

Glad you finally settled this debate!

Bull****. This entire year has been marked by long periods of silence (when Schaub was playing well) followed by a deluge of "TOLDYASO!!!" posts the minute his season got off track. (And now we get the "I'd rather have Flacco" posts, forgetting that most of you were neck-deep in PeePee Manning's $18MM/year crack last offseason, INSISTING that he was no doubt about it, THE final piece to our playoff puzzle. How's that guy's postseason going? oh, right: "FLACCOOOOOOOOOOO!")

There is no longer any anti-Schaub objectivity. We've seen the pattern repeated over and over and over again: when he wins, the opponent wasn't good enough; the game was during the day; it's the system - "yeah, but" is the order of the day. And when he loses, it's all his fault. You're so dug in, you don't even see your own brand of a disingenuous.

I really do owe you and the others an apology for this. No need to call people names when it's their opinion I mean to denigrate and not folks themselves.

    I apologize.

The Schaub fan bandwagon in full meltdown. He was 18-5 and Mr. Elite then he stunk it up for the most important games of the season. So we'll see what he does today.

Who DOES care that they won the Super Bowl in the past? How'd that work out for them yesterday? Ya know, when they couldn't get it done when it "F@KIN" MATTERS"?

So...what Manning and Rodgers did in the distant past is relevant to this weekend, but everything Schaub has done up until the last month isn't. Good to know.

I'd probably stop brining up the word "logic" if I were you.

Yeah, y'all aren't biased AT ALL.

Um, Manning and Rodgers have 5 MVP's between them. How many does Schaub have? Rodgers I believe has the highest regular season and playoff QB rating of any quarterback in history. Why are we even having this argument? Any time Manning and Rodgers don't play great that means Schaub is on their level? Huh? Schaub's not on their level, period. No game, playoff game or otherwise, is going to change that. That's just reality.
