Schaub has one thing going for him. He is generally acurate.

But it cannot consistently make up for his weaknesses which are mobility and arm strength.

At this point, I'm not sure that Yates isn't the better choice. At least when Yates gets in trouble in the pocket he has a chance to scramble some.

Duane Brown took 4 whole years to reach his potential, and he was a 1st rounder. His first 2 years were not very pretty. And you're talking about a bluechip kind of tackle.

There were a couple of really sad sacks in there, for sure.

There were also a few where the RG/RT just completely whiffed.

Schaub did pretty well on 3rd down, but that first interception and AJ's TD drop were total killers.

The 2nd int was him pressing because we were so far behind.

you think the offense is conservative now, wait till yates is in the game.

kubiak would have him on the shortest leash. not to mention yates will make a play here and there but will make a ton of other mistakes as well.

See, I don't get this. Why the hell are you even following this team if you're resigned to them losing before the seeding is even determined? What a miserable existence. Seriously. Get a grip.

    I don't remember your posts.

If they had won this game, I'd take your bet.

But since they have to go on the road, no thanks.

He wasn't pressing . It was a bad and sad throw by him.

Andre Johnson 1on1 vs a smaller defender. What else could you ask for?

Texans are 6-2 on the road. The odds are in your favor.

Umm, you realize that AJ got beat on that route, right?

It was essentially the world's longest endzone fade.

Matt let the ball go before AJ even got off his man. AJ didn't get position. Boom. Interception.

Matt went for a homerun and trusted AJ to be there, and he wasn't.

Dumb decision to go for it all there, and poor execution by AJ.

Making an unnecessary endzone heave, I'd call that pressing.

This is what I said then. John Elway felt the same way. Looks like Gary Kubiak is continuing his tradition of being Elway's backup.

Just because I don't think we need to replace Schaub doesn't mean I think it's likely we're going to win the next 3 games, likely including 2 on the road in Denver and New England. I'd hesitate to take that bet no matter who we had at QB.

Why don't you have faith in the Texans? If you are not a Texans fan then stop trolling or GTFO.

Spare me that bandwagon BS. Who knows, Schaub could be traded, or cut. It was dumb for the Texans to sign him after one good game and this team was so terrible at handling the cap, that they had to cut leaders on offense/defense to stay under. If the best we can hope for is Keenum playing like he is at UH, then let him start and have one of the most (probably THE most) expensive backup in the league behind him. Schaub is who is he and he will not lead the Texans anywhere.

The looks on the Texans bench said it all. I felt so bad for Andre when he facepalmed, shook his head, and just looked down. OD did something similar. A bunch of players looked confused and disgusted. It's not all on Schaub, though his inabilities play a huge part in it. Kubiak coaches like a backup QB. I wonder if him and Schaub still text each other joking about Manning coming to Houston?

Or it was simply an overthrow by QB with a weak arm. Matt Schaub does not have good accuracy unless the receiver is wide the **** open. That underthrow INT on Casey being another example from this game.

Just fyi, Schaub's new contract is guaranteed only for this year and next ($4.4m and then $7.25m), and his signing bonus is prorated over 5 years (roughly $3.5 per year). But if we waive him (or trade him) anytime before the 5 years are up, the rest of the signing bonus is immediately counted in that year's salary cap.
