sadly, the media and fantasy dorks like yourself make it seem like having a defense and a running game is a slap to the quarterback.

For arguments' sake we win the superbowl, and foster decides to retire and walk the mountains of Tibet next season, and Tate contracts some season ending virus. I'm sure Kubiak would resort to an more wide open ihop entrees like 2008-2010 when we had kyle. Add the defense we had at the start of the season and he would now win throwing for yards and close to 30 tds.

again, every superbowl winning qb has had superb company in all the phases of the game. it's why a game manager like brady won 3 superbowls! nothing wrong with it.

i'm glad lance z is back without john. listening to him yesterday he basically called out schaub's arm and said something i've been saying since the new england game. you cannot make adjustments. in particular, schaub can't throw a fifteen yard out.

the fifteen yard out is the throw that the separates the big boy arms from the rest. lance mentioned the game i think two years ago when schaub tried to make this throw only to have the db jump the route and take it in for a pick six. i think it was a prime time game. anyway remember neil odonell basically giving the superbowl mvp to larry brown on two pick six interceptions. neil odonell good qb, avg arm.

johnson basically can not sell his fake to the outside on the out and up route because there is no threat of schaub making this throw.

we are not stuck. we can start the process of looking for a qb of the future.

start spending high end draft picks and enough skimming the back pages of the nfl for more back up quarterbacks.

we dont need anymore dan orlovskys, sage rosenfels, matt schaubs, tj yates, and god forbid case keenum.

How do you think other teams get franchise level qbs? by spending high end draft picks on them. When was the last time kubiak spent a high end draft pick on a qb?

By drafting them in the 6th round? Tom Brady

3rd round? Joe Montana, Dan Fouts

    2nd round? Brett Favre

Undrafted FA? Kurt Warner, Warren Moon

He knows not of what he speaks.

We could draft a second or third rounder and he would beat him out. I'm not sure why we didn't go with Kirk Cousins in the third. Oh yeah...bc we thought we had our guy in Yates

what's the highest kubiak ever spent on a draft pick for a qb? 5th round for yates if im not msitaken?

i knew somebody would bring up brady, moon, and warner.

those are the exceptions not the rule.

what do you think gives you a better chance of finding a great qb?

high end draft picks (rule) or late round picks and wishing for diamond in the roughs with back ups and undrafted freeagents (exceptions)?

I wonder what the odds are that you get a franchise QB after the 1st round? 1-3% maybe.

So your solution is to tank and land one of the top picks in the draft? Pass.

    stop being obtuse.

how do most teams start looking for qb?

by game planning and scouting qbs. last time i checked texans get 7 picks in each round.

    id start with round 1-3.

It all depends on who you have to play to get there. All those NFC QBs didn't have to play anyone of note. That won't be the case this year for the Texans/Schaub.

How do you get to the Superbowl without playing "anyone of note"?

What is your criteria for that? Top 5 all-time QB or something?

Brad Johnson beat the NFL MVP. Delhomme beat Kurt Warner in St. Louis. Grossman beat Drew Brees. And Donovan McNabb, for all the crap he got, was a solid top 5 QB throughout the early and mid 2000's, whom Delhomme, Johnson, and Hasselbeck all had to go through to reach their Superbowls.

If you want to boil this whole thing down to "Schaub isn't as good as Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, so we're f***ed", then you're basically writing off the other 2/3rds of each team. That's not how football works.

You don't know **** about football much less the Texans. You started watching last year against the Bengals then your boyfriend "back up" TJ let the Ravens intercept our chance at the AFC championship game. If he's so great why isn't he starting and why aren't other teams offering trades for him?

You're just a troll. Plain and simple.

That is an absolutely ridiculous statement. No team has ever gotten to a superbowl without playing anyone good
