his incompetence and propensity to choke in big games make it impossible for fans who spend their hard earned cash not to take it personal.

really its not personal, schaub can cure aids and cancer tomorrow, i still wouldnt want him as my starting quarterback.

Can we start Harden over Schaub. Dude is so mobile and accurate on those long passes.

Quick aside: for all of Steve Francis' drug problems (alleged) and attitude problems he had with the Rockets, he's a still a Houstonian who lives down the street from Yao's Houston property, and he donated 1,000 turkeys to needy families during Thanksgiving. He deserves a decent amount of good will from the fans...I still appreciate his contributions to the Rockets.

As for Schaub, for once I'd like to see him escape a sack. I really just want to see that happen on the road to Superbowl. It will blow my mind.

I agree with you about Matt Schaub not being quite elite, but THIS ^^^ isn't a good reason why. Let's not forget that Tom Brady is 1-3 against the NFC West....which INCLUDES a loss to the Cardinals.

I will ALWAYS be a big Stevie Franchise fan
I am a big fan of Schaub . . . but my fandom for basketball > my fandom of football

    I have been critical of Schaub . . .
Until recently . . . I thought of him as expensive
[I was desirous of those 2 2nd round picks we gave up]
Not to mention I was still bitter about the Kubiak-Carr Experiment
[He knew Carr sucked when he took the job . . . ]

Unfounded? That's an interesting way to see it.

I will take your of response to the rest of my post as understanding of where I'm coming from on Schaub and that you will feel the need to stop making up the idea that I'm trying to convince people that Schaub is Brady/Rodgers/Peyton -esque

The funniest thing about all this is that you two are in exact agreement on what you think of Schaub: good, not great. You're just arguing that he's not terrible, and he's just arguing that he's not great.

Furthermore, how come you and OTHERS don't blast HeyNow for making this stupid thread?

As much as I (or others) disagree with the concept of Schaub as "elite", he actually put thought and effort into the thread and makes a decent argument to back it up. I figured this thread was actually created as a hyperbolic counterbalance to all the constant herp and derp going on here about Schaub. On top of that, he's not an obnoxious jackass, so people are probably more inclined to give him a pass.

Biased stats DO NOT equal a "decent argument". Hell , even a casual fan can decipher those numbers and call BS.
    Bold= troll

You never stated that Schaub wasn't elite.

So it seems like the validity of HeyNow's position/argument does not matter just because people supposedly like him? Weak.

So are you calling me an obnoxious jackass? Just asking.

    1. I said prior to the season , that if the Texans finished 3-1 against the NFC North they will go to the Super Bowl.
2a Heat are 0-2 vs Knicks , noboday cares, you know why? Apply that same logic to Tom Brady.
2b If you look deeper than the 2-2 record, you will see a cause for concern.

Compared to the counter-arguments we constantly see, it looks decent by comparison. The bar for a reasonable post around here is pretty damned low thanks to folks like yourself.

    Trolling the trolls.

I never said I didn't beat my wife either. What is your point?

Actually, come to think of it, I've said multiple times on this BBS how I rate Schaub, and none of them come anywhere close to being construed as "elite".

No, the fact that he's not a jerk is the reason people aren't blasting him.

You can definitely be one when you feel like it. Not a great jackass, but a good jackass. Definitely not an elite jackass.

Man how different this argument would be if Schaub had stayed healthy last year. I frankly don't give a damn what he did vs the Vikings, Packers, Patriots, etc. Schaub will be measured by what he can do in the playoffs. Period. Until we see that, it's a moot point from both sides.

    I agree.

No one is arguing that he is elite. Pretty much all of us are arguing if whether or not he is good enough for us to win the superbowl.

LOL. Yeah, let's just forget the last 3-4 years.

Yeah, and I also never made comments alluding to Schaub being elite.

I did, however, use a BBS meme to make fun of a situation in which Hey Now basically called you out publicly by creating this thread.

Ignoring your complete memory loss about my opinion of Matt Schaub, why is the burden on me to make a counter-point to a thread? Especially one that I interpret to be made more for the purpose of pissing off Schaub haters than actually promoting Schaub? And even in the event the OP is serious, why would I even waste my time on it when I've already 1) stated how I feel about Schaub multiple times and 2) there's going to be a gaggle of guys just like you coming in here to argue against the OP anyway.

we can all agree on that. but some here, like ubigred say he's a top 10-12 qb then goes into schaub sucks balls mode when he has a bad game. personally, i think he is just a fan of his own fantasy team, probably has five of them at least, but he is not a fan of the Houston team.

Superbowl years for brady with an elite defense, an elite offensive line, a running game and awesome special teams...
    QBR 86, 87,93.

If we had a flux capacitor to relive 2004, Ubigred would not have not considered brady elite because brady wasn't putting peyton manning numbers. People have just been brain washed by these regular season numbers of the past couple of seasons. In the end, football hasn't changed much.

What have I said that was so bad that I set the bar low? Because I offered honest opinion about Walter, AJ, or Foster? That makes the bad guy? Opinions that included valid evidence too.

Weak attempt at calling me out. He used Alex Smith numbers vs teams that will be drafting in the top 10 at next years draft. He really showed me :eek::eek:

Fine. I just felt that since you took the time to make posts agreeing/siding with SchaubNow, you would take equal time to agree/side with the other side esp with valid points. You are one of the FEW on here , that I hold in high regard. My mistake for assuming you would be just in providing opinion in any thread you step in.
