You can see the chip on your shoulder about one play against Indy from space...

His tone is directed more at posters like myself who have overplayed Rosenfumble's mistakes. At least I'm admitting it.

    I'm talking about Sage's INT.

The play where Leach was open was Schaub, not Sage, scrambling and Leach just getting behind the D during the scramble. I don't think the play was designed for him to be primary or anything.. but he was certainly open.

Sage's man on the other hand...covered up completely

pgabs, I completely agree with you here. I don't intend to blame this loss on Rosenfumble. I just don't think he's a good starting QB. I think he's too dumb. But this game, unlike the Indy game, does not rest on his shoulders.

If you're going to let 3 minutes of a football game dictate your entire life... then well, thank god you're not involved with the organization.

So I'm going to take it you not only didn't read my original post that you responded to but didn't read the following as well? I made a point to ask you to point out how I am blaming this loss on sage. You didn't, apparently you can't. I'm not sure what your problem here is.

This loss is certainly not one that can be blamed on Sage. He made a poor decision at an important time.. but yeah, no way it's on him. But of course, rarely is a game on a single player. But I'll put the Indy game on Sage and the Texas/Texas Tech game on Gideon.

Oh right, I had em mixed up.

Yeah, bad throw, but if I remember right, Walter got pulled down from behind... no flag of course

okay, fair, look i'm not arguing for sage to start anymore, let's just see what he does these four weeks. the texans are still in the mix, so this will be a fair test.

didn't see that.. but the point is, he was doubled and shut down..ball shouldn't have gone in the air at that juncture with that field position, regardless of a flag that maybe should have been thrown. I just feel like that was one of those decisions Schaub doesn't make cause he's thinking more about situations/field position/game score/etc. all the time, and Sage seems to ignore it all. And I don't want my QB doing that late in games

Geez, man, someone must have really upset you over something else over this weekend... I'm liking your newer approach, but you're still calling people names, dude, what gives? Stop the name calling... it's not healthy for you or for this board... :(

That was Sage's call. He and Kubiak both said so. Check the game thread.

Schaub was playing hurt the whole game yesterday. It's not really fair to use those stats against him. Whether or not he should have taken himself out of the game to give the team a better shot at a win, that's debatable.

If you watch his INT, he had Leach wide open and he didn't put enough on the pass because he was throwing off of his left foot/knee. If his knee isn't hurt, that's an easy TD IMO.

I'll be rooting for Sage. Always liked the guy.

Btw, do we have a 3rd QB just in case?

It would be a rare situation as Sophmores rarely come out, but I guess that could be because stars like him don't typically readshirt.

ehhhhhh.... i get the wordplay and all, but i'd rather he go rosenbrady or rosenmanning than rosenfavre.

rosenfels is too reckless, imo - we've seen it this year; we saw it last year in the tennessee game; we saw it 2006 when he broke his wrist running down a blocked field goal....

QBs have to make smart decisions in an instant - his motor seems to run too hard to have any long-term success. kaleidosky is exactly right - the play yesterday is rosenfels in a nutshell: the smart play, once minnesota didn't bite, was to check down or (god forbid) scramble for a much-needed 1st down. instead, he looked at double-coverage and STILL threw the pass; and to make matters infinitely worse, underthrew the pass.

tie it up there, and it's a different game. minnesota likely doesn't run AD down our throats on the ensuing drive and we put it back in frerotte's hands to try and make a play - i'll take that bet.

won't do us any good but, he should get fined and suspended. While on the ground he lunged right into Schaub's leg. With today's rules, that's dirty.
