well, deserved. Leader of one of the top five explosive offenses since he got here. He is a heck of a player. Sorry, haters. Is hater politically incorrect? should I say, schaub adversaries?

 

Im sure you all will know the answer to this, but I dont so: why now? why sign an extension now? i assume there is a reason?

 

Great week for Schaub, got his jersey retired at UVA and now this contract. Hope he stays healthy and makes this extension a smart decision by Rick Smith.

Onto Barwin, Cushing, and Quin...

 

Schaub is clearly our guy for the long haul, and I am more than okay with that.

 

It's a calculated risk.

If Schaub stays healthy, puts up big numbers, and leads a deep playoff run, he would have gotten paid like an elite QB.

This is big but, not as big as it could possible be.

Immediate response: Why sooo early though? Seems to be a little more than what Kolb got. I would have capped the ceiling at 20 mil.

I am happy for Schaub...was a relative unknown sitting behind Vick in ATL...wish him the best in his career...when schaub is on...plays like the one to AJ80 happen...My only qualm with Schaub is that his deep ball is week and receivers have to dial back some speed...other than that...i think Schaub has always been poised...whether good or bad...doesnt lose his focus...Go Schaub...Go Texans...

Fine with it, positions us well, but... I don't think he'd get that in the open market.

 

$15M per is nice value. This close to making serious SB runs, you lock up your man under center.

 

That's Rivers/Eli territory. Pretty much dead on the money. Only way this goes sour is if Matt's foot falls off, but I think we know now the odds are against that.

I expect Romo to get a similar deal soon.

 

Matt's a better leader and a better chance of succeeding.
