I'm just not sure how much of it was trying to loosen up the defense. If they didn't respect the deep ball then that might have not opened up the run game and TE passing game a bit.
And he "just won." I thought that was a prerequisite for you in a QB, DD. You know, since you still jock VY's winning percentage all the time.
i find it hilarious that the criticism on Schaub is when the game is on the line, he can't perform on a elite level....that elite QBs don't throw INTs or fumble on a potential game winning drive. Brees threw a pick six and Brady fumbled in that scenario yesterday.
I can't understand how it's even a debate who is better between Romo and Schaub... Romo loses games for your team, Schaub doesn't. He may not be a superstar like Brady or Rodgers but he still keeps you in the game. Watching Romo throw yesterday was painful. He has so many good receivers and still can't complete a pass while Schaub has no one to really throw to with AJ and he still keeps the ball moving throwing it to the TE's. And to DD saying Schaub didn't have a good game either... He did what was needed to win, something a few "elite" QBs failed to do this week.
Cant believe yall are comparing Schaub to Brady or Brees...just to scathe DD??...smh at the delusional talk...
Just the truth, the guy is average, not good, not bad, average, read Bill Simmons writing about him, he nailed it. Is he better than Carr, yes, is he good enough to win a Super Bowl (sure if Trent Dilfer can do it)...... Is he going to carry a team or inspire players....No, not even close. DD
I am happy they won, I just believe that in order to "Win in the playoffs" they will need a lot more to overcome their average QB. DD
Bill Simmons? The guy who dropped this on us Friday?: I'm making this my Upset Special of 2011: Jaguars 20, Texans 19. He picked Tennessee to finish 10-6 and win the division; because he's a petulant little child, he hates to be wrong and refuses to admit when he is - so we've been treated to 6 solid weeks of him a) picking against the Texans each and every week; b) ragging them at every turn. He called the defense "mediocre" after last week's win and discredited our victory over the Steelers (who were, apprently, banged up - perhaps he forgot the bang-up we suffered during the game.) I would wager he hasn't watched a single minute of any Texan game this year, apparently on the same pace as you.
So you think he is better than average? I can see a case for above average, but the guy is just uninspiring, I don't think he is good enough. I am probably more critical than most though - I would not have liked Trent Dilfer either. DD
Ah, yes, when you don't have the ability to win the debate, try dispariging the poster. Weaksauce...I have won the Schaub debate anyway, people were calling him elite and Clutch a couple of years ago, now they finally see the truth that I have been writing about. It is all good. DD
