Went out Saturday & Sunday. Went to a restaurant yesterday & a store today. Already set up a dinner party this Saturday that at least a dozen will attend. Trying to figure out if I should cook or get it Catered; Owner at Benjy's I've known since HS and he said he'd deliver and give us 20% off.

I won't allow this nonsense to control my behavior.

That's a really **** thing to say. Especially because I used to consider you a friend.

But hey. I guess CF "likes" are more important to you now.

Sort of a morbid thread. Being in the"high risk" category, we're being as careful as we can, although it's making us miserable. Me, at least. The kids are grown and support themselves. No worries there. May not see them for months, but that won't give us, or them, a nervous breakdown. We have our Labradoodle to keep us company. She's not a bat, so she should be safe. I'm more worried about croaking from something else. We could kill each other simply because we're used to giving ourselves space. Now we don't have it.

Here's an example. When you are retired and can afford it, going out to eat for lunch during the week is a big part of your day. In my case, it's a chance to spend some time away from my significant other, the vegetarian, and eat non-vegetarian delicacies. Go to a favorite place, and I have a few. Sit at a table and maybe read a novel on my Kindle, or chat with the waitresses that know me. Now, not being able to easily get good BBQ here in Austin, Pad Thai at a restaurant I know, or great Cajun food and Turbodog beer at a place a few blocks away where I spend too much time is killing me.

Perhaps I'll survive, but if the virus does me in, it's more likely to be because of the disruption it's caused in my life. Not being able to eat at my favorite places is a real bummer, people. Delivery, and I can't get it from some of these places, just isn't the same. It's a part of my lifestyle that's taking a hit, and it can't be good for my health. My mental health, anyway.

    I'm 48, and I don't give 2 ***** about a virus with a 98% mortality rate.

    People can be idiots.

You’re an *******. It’s your specialty, and the truth is that the vast majority here don’t give a damn what you think.
You constantly make your own point, however, that people can be idiots. You are exhibit #1.

and you're naive. I have plenty of liberal friends (none of which would call me an idiot, thought they may have other words to describe me) and am fine with disagreeing with them on issues. I'll say I'm far more liberal on social issues than I was 30 years ago.

But you just don't get economics, and you never will. Should Texas ever go Blue, our Country is ruined, and again, you are too naive to get it. And FAR too old.

I'm ok with liberals when they are young, but don't be so stupid.

Why would you respond that to a comment of someone stating they are at high risk during a pandemic?

You are in finance so you supposedly know numbers. Thousands have died, and hundreds of thousands will die baring a miracle.

Just keep your mouth shut, kid.

Mortality rate. I've literally been in a job with life expectancy ratio numbers.

I'm tired of talking to people like you who don't know what you are talking about.

Take your suspected 2% mortality rate and apply it to just 10% of the world's population finance boy. What do you get? Hell, use a .002% mortality rate. What do you get?

    Millions of people dead.

So either you're not good at numbers, or you don't have empathy and are a narcissist or psychopath. Or maybe just an idiot.
