Well its not like the TV was attacking people. It was the premise of a paranormal visit through the TV. Though I like Aliens probably more so then 99 percent of the people out there, it was far from scary. It was tense, and a good watch, but nothing scary about it imho. And in essence wasnt the chic from The Ring a Zombie of sorts? Comming through the TV isnt any less absurd then a non dead person who can not be killed no matter what, and who can materalize in front of you after youve run for a few minutes away from them.

And take a chill pill dude.

That's your opinion, fine. I completely disagree but I don't feel like wasting my time arguing about something this stupid. Fundamentally it's just childish "uh - huh" "nuh-uh" banter that I try to stay away from. As far as the movies I listed, if you would've noticed in my first post I said I found them scary when I was a kid. The aliens themselves were scary enough, as was the environment. A movie doesn't have to be gory or supernatural to be scary. And I only listed the first of those slasher movies, before they became half comedy half gore and relying too much on popping up out of thin air(even though the main reason 13th freaked me out was the stupid gotcha ending that used to get me everytime)

    And drugs are bad. mmmkay?

    Yup, Ringu.

I've seen both the Hollywood and Japanese version and the Japanese version is scarier by far.

I remember when the VIDEO was played, the scenes were creepy as.

"The Ring" had a couple of good jump scenes, but I found it too ludicrous to be disturbing. I mean, a killer videotape that wants you to make copies of it? It just struck me as r****ded. The horse committing suicide WAS hilarious! I couldn't believe they didn't show the "adult" girl's face after covering it with her hair for the whole movie... that should have been the biggest shock of the movie!

"The Shining" was great. The "bear man" scene was REAL freaky, but the scariest was the rotting old woman. I guess I enjoy "chills" more than the jump scenes. "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" had the same sort of chills, that was a great one. The movie as a whole really wasn't very scary, but "28 Days Later" had one great chilling scene: When the guy goes into the church and it's filled with corpses, and then he goes "Hullo-o?" and like five of the hundreds of corpses bolt up and gape at him? Whoo, I clutched my armrest pretty hard!

I dunno, I never like the movies that rely on the jumpscenes to scare you. I like the movies that blow your mind. "Psycho" was another good one. I've never seen "Alien" or "The Exorcist" but I guess I should. I'm probably too old to get the full effect, sadly.

    Hippie,

I think you would really like "Alien". I wouldn't say it was scary but damn, it was unsettling at times.

Well, God knows I've seen plenty of movies that ripped it off. Doom, for example. Yechh.

These two movies unsettled me more than The Excorcist or The Ring. Ironically they both star Sam Neil

Is this a joke? Both of those movies were the worst I've ever seen.. I wanted to shoot myself for thinking The Devil's Rejects would be good. I will never see another Rob Zombie movie -- just absolutely hated them!

    Strange things scare me.

The Exorcist...I only found slightly chilling. The Aliens? Bah. The Omen seemed silly.

The Others frightened me badly while I was watching it, but not after. Same thing with The Village.

When I was little? I remember Village of the Damned bothering me. Twin Peaks, of all things, gave me nightmares.

Lots of other things, too. I scare kind of easily - but most of it doesn't stay very long.
