There are different classes of horror according to how old you are. As a young child it was the moster movies Freddy (Very scary movie for teens and children) Jason (Visually disturbing) Jaws (Still till today after people see it think about it when at the beach) Halloween 1 and 2( still gives you the chills) As a teen those are still scary by then you add the suspense movies The movie were the babysitte was down stairs and the phone rings and the killer is upstairs in the childrens room. Aliens (awsome suspense thriller) Polterguest Shining Event Horizen (very sadist movie, Loved it) StrangLand (another very sadist movie, Loved it) As you become an adult it takes a combo of all of them to scare you ( unless you are the easly scared) Hearing voices of demons is not scary people. Excorcist was NOT scary it was classic at its time because there had never been anything dealing with Demons on film at that time. Up untill that it was chessy Dracula and Mummy movies. Event Horizon ( fit both types) Jeepers Creepers ( fairly good ) I have rewatched the movies that scared me when I was a child and they still scare to a point but in NO way to the effect of then. There is a movie coming out called THEY starting Wednesday made by WES Craven. It looks very scary we shall see. To state my age I am 28 and have been a horror buff since I was 4 or 5 years old. My Mother is the same way
stupid pet sematary scared the crap out of me...damn that movie and that freaking chick in bed!!! damn it!!! exorcist from this list...still haven't seen the ring yet...my wife says she wants to see the ring at home one night after my son has gone to sleep...she thinks movies are scarier late at night at home. she's probably right.
I went and saw the ring this evening and the movie was not scary it just gave you a creepy feeling at the very end. Overall it was a pretty good movie though.
