if you believe Celts' Final wins over a Laker team without Bynum and Ariza is more convincing than 2-0 record by the Lakers (w Ariza but no Bynum) over the same Celst team, i can't reason w you.

playing without the starting center doesn't tell you the true strength of the team. Gasol, a power forward, was man-handled by the Celt center, who would have a much more difficult time w a regular center such as Bynum.

seasoned NBA fans know that there is a huge difference playing a PF at the post vs. the reguar center

I get it, you think the Lakers are unstoppable.

The original statement I made is that the Celtics match up best with the Lakers. They have good defensive matchups everywhere and the quick PG the lakers have trouble with. Note that I did not say the Celtics would beat the Lakers for sure, just that they have the best matchups.

Then you came back and threw up the 0-2 regular season record in my face, like that should end all arguments right then and there. When I tried to tell you that the regular season doesn't mean anything, you went and played the injured card, somehow inferring that Andrew Bynum would make a difference.

Did you watch any of their playoff games this year with Bynum in the lineup? As a Rockets fan I was elated whenever Bynum was on the floor, I knew the Rockets would have trouble when Jackson benched Bynum in game 2. Andrew Bynum is not the answer offensively or defensively.

I know that the 'scary' lineup you proposed in your OP looks really really swell on NBA live, that's also the only place it would work, in a video game.

Yep, with player hurt, Bynum, no major injury from Celtics when they met.
And now they convert Ariza into Artest, PP will have all the trouble to score.
Think about it, PP scored 20 on Radma, and he's their best player already, he's now gonna deal with Artest, it's not really funny. The addition of Rasheed, at best, cancel out Bynum.

Odom & Bryant can play on the Perimeter, and Artest thinks his jump shot rivals Larry Bird.

I agree that we likely don't see that lineup. Who knows if we'll see early season Bynum, or playoff Bynum. Will Lamar Odom be motivated? Is Artest really that good? Their team seems about the same from last year if you ask me.

The Sheed-KG-Perkins big man rotation should be devastating defensively...well, provided they're all healthy and motivated.

It doesn't hurt to have a PG with long arms like Rondo. Paul Pierce and Marquis Daniels are also pretty good when they want to be. Assuming Tom Thibodeau is back, it will be very hard to score on the Celtics.

    Chauncey B.
    J.R. Smith
    'Melo
    KMart
    Nene/Birdman

If not for T. Ariza, this starting 5 could have potentially been the NBA Champs this season..

kobe would say either he either goes or artest goes cuz artest would just do his little 10 second dribble doin crosses while not even goin no where then a pullup jumpshot bricking it then blaming kobe cuz of his defense

Spurs are probably the best. However, alot of those guys (Ginobili, Jefferson, Dice) are injury prone.

Lakers are tough but PG is too weak.

    Celtics are too old.

    All that being said:
    Mike Bibby
    Joe Johnson
    Josh Smith
    Marvin Williams
    Al Horford

Now if only they had a bench...

Lol, what? So your saying Bynum and Sheed are equal? AND your saying Artest will lock down PP? Did you watch basketball at all this past year?

Also, do you think we can get Lebron for T-Mac?

Most years thats a team that has a 50/50 chance of making it into the second round instead of a possible championship contender. Last year was a real down year for the league.

I know the scariest-looking lineup... but not necessarily scary-good...

    Okur
    Boozer
    Kirilenko
    Brewer
    Williams

    Personally I liked:
    Fisher
    Kobe
    Odom
    Gasol
    Buynum

Fishers outside shooting n ball handling takes the load off Kobe. Artest is streaky and has his cold nights plus a bit of a ball hog so I dont know how Kobe Odom n Gasol going to get touches. I think they did a huge mistake by letting Ariza go, he was energy off the bench and better shooter and slasher than Artest.
