they actualy lost (probably) there most athletic player in ariza, and didnt get that back in artest..... and plus Kobe will play the 2 guard not Artest, forcing Artest to the three, which means that they are not that long or athletic at the three of there starting lineup, like they were last year.....which still looks pretty good....but weak at point guard..... Fisher Kobe Artest Gasol Bynum
that is an OPEN INVITATION for Pick-N-Roll. Even in his prime, Shaq hated defending the PNR. Gasol and Odom are the masters in running the PNR. All the Lakers have to do is to run 5 straigh PNR, Shaq would be grabbing his shorts gasping for air Game over, easily. translation, ony LBJ and, to a lesser extent, Shaq, can create their own shots. way too predictable on offense.
Strongly agree- If Sheed plays at 80% of his career best -his combo with Garnett as the best help defender is very strong
obviously, you have reading comprehension problem. you obviously don't understand "the combination of length, athleticism and ability to score." Ariza can't create his own shot; he needs others to set him up.
I don't think Fish is as quick as Kobe. Kobe is not fast enough to guard Parker nowadays, but still good enough to cover Rondo and Billups, as we saw in last 2 playoffs.
That unit will probably rarely play together. Odom will probably come off the bench as he did before. It will be interesting to see Shannon Brown's play next year, he looked decent as far as point guards go.
I think the scariest is Bostons unit by far with Sheed in it. After all they did beat the Lakers without Sheed in their lineup already the year before when they where healthy. Its already proven they are better than the Lakers in the Finals.
seective memory on your part. without Ariza and Bynum, that Lakers team lost in 6 games to the Celts in full strength. Effectively, it is adding Bynum and Artest to that Lakers team, and replacing PJ Brown w Sheed for that Celts team. a no-brainer, the Lakers
I don't know why so many of you think sheed is gonna start for boston, because I would rather have Perkins start as he's a beast on interior defense and defense in general, sheed would be better off of the bench.
How is that a no-brainer? Looks to me more like a no-brainer that the Celtics can still handle the Lakers comfortably
Unless Ron Artest can score 40 points in game 6 Boston still beats LA's butt. Thats also if Rasheed is held scorless that is. By the way Pj Brown in no way resembles or replaces a Rasheed Wallace. Its basically you lost Ariza and gained Artest in a trade pretty much and only gained Bynum. Rasheed is gained for Boston. That said La couldnt beat them before so thats were it still stands. They cant beat them until proven otherwise. Boston is still the best when healthy.
