seems ridiculous, but if I was an OKC fan, I'd be ecstatic that the team owner is willing to spend that. Yes it would have been nice if he did this in 2014, but hey atleast he is now.

after all as a fan, the owner willing to pay the luxury tax has ZERO negative impact on my fandom or the team, but only positive. The only negative is the owners checkbook.

SO while OKC is signing George, grant, felton and others... TILLMAN and the Rockets have already let go of Ariza, seemingly strictly due to monetary reasons as his contract was only 1 year and have still yet to resign Luc or Capella.

 

They don't have the same ownership they had when they got rid of harden. They got a super rich owner on board in 2014, George Kaiser.

Melo has to approve the trade and since he has a no trade clause, so it would be difficult to trade him.

My thoughts exactly. I don't see them getting out of the 2nd round (indefinitely), and their ceiling and floor are very close together for a team with this size payroll.

From here, I see them taking the trajectory of the Deron Williams Jazz teams - at best.

 

This Thunder team is built to play elite defense. If Roberson comes back anywhere near what he was as a perimeter defender, watch out.

 

I will watch out! I'm open to any team challenging the Warriors at this point. I just don't see enough consistency or efficiency.

 

Nothing smells more like pump and dump than a small market team punching way above the cap.
