I really hope what alot of you guys are saying is true. But I have plenty of family over there that tell me otherwise. Maybe I'm just overblowing it in my head, but I just wouldn't know what to do if anything bad happened
It really depends what part of Mexico and method of transportation. If you fly to Mexico City you may just have to worry of regular petty theft. Same as you would in any city with 20 million ppl. If she is from mexico she should know where to go and where not to. If you go to resort or tourist places like cancan Cozumel etc. you are pretty safe. If you drive or take the bus all across the country I'd be worried. A couple of years ago my mom took the bus to Mexico City. she also had conversations with locals there and they told her some crazy stories. A day after she hadgottenback to houston there was a report of an entire bus being gunned down. c She flies there now. It was so great in the 90s when all you had to worry about was bribing cops.
