You know those places that will buy your gold and silver for cash? One in Houston, Gold and Silver Buyers, is run by Brian Culwell, a three-time felon and notorious scam artist who has previously served time for felony theft, fraud and other convictions.

Most recently, he was selling cheap trinkets, calling it fine jewelry, under the banner of "The Dream's" Dreamkids Foundation, scamming people into thinking they were helping poor kids get an education.

It nearly ruined the reputation of Olajuwon's charity, until he testified that he had no idea what Culwell was doing. Culwell was supposed to be selling sports memorabilia.

Dream really needs to hire someone to watch his organizations' backs. First extremists, then this.

Weird. A lady brought in a 2500 dollar check from a gold and silver buyer yesterday into my branch and asked to cash it. They buyer told her she could cash it at wells fargo but she didn't have an account with us and the check wasn't drawn off of us either. I wonder if its the same people. Hopefully they didn't scam the poor old lady although they probably did considering they worked their business out of a food town grocery store.
