Giannis is at 27 ppg, 12.6 rpg, 6.0 apg, and 64% true shooting.

No other player has ever had even 25 ppg, 12 rpg, 5 apg, and 60% true shooting. Barkley came closest in his 1993 MVP season.

And Giannis is doing it playing just 33 minutes a game, and also playing elite-level defense on the best team in the league.

That is special and, yes, historic. Give the guy his due.

even if Giannis’s season can be considered “historic,” there’s levels to this...whatever he’s doing pales in comparison to what Harden is doing this season

people will be talking about Harden’s 18-19 season 10 years from now...next year, we won’t even be talking about what Giannis did

Harden has been dominating the headlines all year for a reason while Giannis has been a footnote

this Bucks season will be remembered as the year Coach Bud came in and made sweeping changes propelling the Bucks from EC fodder to the top of their conference

Spot on. Giannis has the same numbers as last year...keep reminding people how bad Jason kid as a coach was. He really held them back. I used to tell people man bucks should really be a dominant team but kid is a idiot..didnt shot 3s n trapped excessively leaving opposing teams wide open for 3s. Had a roster that was just badly constructed to take advantage of a guy that needed shooters. Would love to hear what @malakas has to say since from what I gather watches them over the years

I don’t trust dudes MVP opinions if they still justify voting Westbrook in 2017

To the people who are wondering what's special about Greek Freak, there's nothing except that they want to reward the best player on the best team with the MVP trophy, for historical reasons of what the MVP award is.

But we all know as Rockets fans this is all just straight-up bullshit excuse to try to hate on Harden. You don't love the greek freak more, you just hate Harden more. That's no reason to take away what is rightfully his.

Any of these 'voters' for MVP who does not vote for Harden this year should have their votes taken away permanently.

This SHOULD be Harden's 3rd MVP in a row.

The only clowns still pushing for Giannis or PG as MVP are the 16 year olds over on r/NBA.

Are you Giannis people claiming "best player on best team" or "best player on team with most wins"?

Quit saying "best team" for the Bucks unless you mean it. Make your own criteria clear.

    Well put.

It's not about Giannis/Bucks being better... it's about keeping MVP from Harden.

Everybody in their right mind knows Milwaukee's record is a fraud.

You guys are wasting your time - the "narrative" has spoken.

....and can I rant for a minute - since when have people become so interested in what the "narrative" is? Last time I checked, a "Narrative" is just a nice way to say I want to tell you what to think. Is this really where we are as a society where we have the media arguing about what they think you should think?

Feels a little dangerous, don't you think?
    irony^
