Mike Trout gets an out 2/3 of the time. Nevertheless, there is.still a whole lot of 'trout worship' and the outs don't invalidate the fact that he is widely regarded as a phenom.

It is possible to be in awe of Trout in spite of the outs because he isn't graded on an absolute scale, but rather, it is understood that he fails much less than his peers, and this is enough for people to consider him special.

The same is true for Morey. To expect absolute perfection before admiting Morey's specialness is silly. It is a standard that no NBA personel person has ever come close to attaining, just as no baseball player has ever gone a full season without recording an out.

Morey is a genius its as simple as that. There is always a little good fortune involved in anything. Look at Miami´s lucky bounces in game 6. Doesn´t take away from their championship they worked hard they won and so has Daryl Morey.

    In Morey We Trust!

I would rep if I could. Morey would probably be a really good poker player, given his background in analytics. His assessment of calculated risk and return is a good skill to have in sports, poker, wall street, etc. You take the right calculated risks, even if you lose out temporarily, you can win out in the long term.

It's great to recognize that he makes our FO one of the top 5 in the league. I'd rank Riley and Buford/Popovich higher but without a doubt Morey gives us an edge to break past mediocrity.

As much as I hated that he bet on Yao and TMac 2 years past their due date, it was still a credibly measured risk.
