Its wonderful how people believe that growth should be static across all fields as opposed to individual accomplishment.

We've convinced people nowadays that its not their fault they're poor, but the fault of the government or Wall Street or others.

No one wants to stand up for themselves and truly work hard and capture the American dream anymore. They'd rather work in a Union or for the Government and recieve more pay and benefits than they produce eventually killing their employer or driving government into excess.

Scholarships, student loans and all are available to those that simply make the decision to study instead of screwing around, work hard instead of making bad decisions in life and investing in one's self instead of depreciating material goods.

If anything the credit crisis was based on an unsustainable, enormous offering of credit to the lower 50%. Whether it was home loans, student loans, credit to start businesses or credit to be foolish with.

You people are killing the view that there is mobility in this society. Disparity is not good, but killing people's idea that they can be more is even worse. If parents teach their children right from wrong, they study and work hard and culturally it is an accomplishment to go to school, then this tide will change.

Don't kill people's hope for God's sake. Don't let your own problems of failure in life, stop the next generation from taking a chance.

There's no pride in one's labor any more. Its all about what they're not getting because they're watching the Kardashians or LeBron or these idiots out there and think that is the way to success when its really simple. Get good grades in school and you won't be poor. Thats it.

This is inaccurate, especially considering the job market for recent graduates. People graduating law school are becoming waiters. The Bachelor's of yesterday is now the Master's of today, and crushing tuition is now the norm rather than the exception.

Legacies, racial quotas---I can get into a huge "broad" overview again, but the point is, this statement is not truly compatible with what is happening on the ground.

I hire people continually and see that the one's that are competent are being hired. Just getting a degree is one thing, but having grades and acumen are quite another.

From a significant amount of hiring done by myself and colleagues at other firms, its an efficient market. Many people in my belief slid by in a time of excess the last many years, and now their lack of work ethic, knowledge and dedication is being exposed by a competitive job market.

The achievers in law will have multitude of offers, but there will always be those that are at the bottom of their aptitude and class and will be the inevitable example of the one that cannot make it in their field. Probably way too many lawyers anyway.

No point in arguing with ignorant people - ignorant even of their own motivations.

This has exactly nothing to do with why there has been a massive concentration of wealth in the last 30 or so years.

You're really on to something. Sort of like the good old days, right?

    Let's build some character...

Another article that say what we already now and the tea-idiots are fighting to continue.

How much more plain can the problem be explained? Costs for basic necessities are rising and wages are falling all while corporate profits and the wealth disparity are at all time highs.

This trend cannot continue or class warfare will be very real.

Good post and obviously jives with what anyone who cares to look about with open eyes would see. Sadly, a goodly percentage of those who bother to vote are, metaphorically speaking, blind. Blind and/or could care less.
