This team needs something, and he is the only thing we have for a possible solution. Because apparently, Tmac is not going to come out of his funk anytime soon (despite his promises to play harder to Morey and Adelman on Saturday), Yao isn't going to play hard every game - his rebounding numbers tell more about whether he is trying than his points - and Ron Ron has apparently caught the lolligag bug from Yao and Tmac...as he loafed his way to 4 turnovers and 2 of 3 missed FTs in the 2nd quarter as the Wizards built their lead and garnered hope. If none of those three are going to grab the rest of the team by the shorthairs and pull them up to a competitive spirit, then give it to Brooks....let him run run run.....and if Tmac wants to shoot, he can move his ass up to get in position or he will miss the early offense...same for Yao... Get busy living, or get busy dying. DD
this brooks vs. alston debate is just nonsense because the main problem in the last few games was that both of them played really bad most of the time. so, looking back at the last games you just can't come to any other conclusions other than that the rockets sucked when they got no production out of the pg position. that's obvious and we surely can agree on that. so we have to look at the big picture here. t-mac likes rafer as his pg and rafer is the better defender and floor general than brooks. that's why rafer is and stays the starter and plays around 30 mpg. even if brooks could also play well with the starters it has to be this way because brooks is great with the 2nd unit, too, while rafer is not. brooks on the other hand is great when he can take over the game with his quickness and scoring ability. normally he can do that the best when he plays in a smaller line up facing the rotation players of the other team. i think playing him together with artest, barry and landry seems like a good idea. solutions: 1. the most important thing: rafer and brooks have to play better basketball. 2. play rafer together with t-mac and the starters. 3. play brooks in the small line up or when rafer doesn't play well. since t-mac plans to sit out the 2nd games of back to backs brooks will play more in those games and gets the opportunity to shine. everybody will be happy.
Or, you don't bow down to Tmac's wants and desires, and you basically play the best players the most minutes. And tell him to suck it up or grab some pine. DD
Who cares what T-Mac wants at this point? The same guy that's going to be sitting out one game of back to back's? Are you kidding me?
We need you to work your magic. Please make a "Championship?!?" thread. Or better yet, lets aim a little lower and go for a, "2nd Round?!?" thread. C'mon BrooksBall, I know you can do it. You single handily forced the Rockets to turn it up last year and get 22 straight wins.
You know what, this is a big point, the listening to Tmac bit. The organization needs to take a hard stand, stop coddling him, if he sulks...so what...move on..... Tmac has had his chance, he blew it, either he is part of the solution or part of the problem...... If he is not going to give effort, then simply bench him....play someone else. I would argue that the team would be better off playing someone who gives a darn than a guy who is loafing on the court. Do not listen to Chicken Little...errr...Tmac.....he has no cred. Morey should say "put up or shut up" Start him, and if he sulks bench him....if he refuses to play, suspend him without pay..... DD
I love these "calm down we are alright" threads after each loss when all the pessimistic threads pop up like fireworks.
How is that possible???? We have to be worst that Utah who is 1.5 games behind that means we have to be 2 games removed to be lottery and 1 game form the second seed. so 7 of the eight current teams in the playoff race are 2.5 game remove form the lottery, so maybe they all be sellers and start from scratch. BTW a playoff vs Denver will be nice with current Home court. I better face them that any other playoff team including Utah outside looking in.
