Say what you want about Kobe but... he is not in panick mode and confident about game 7. Too confident or even overconfident you might say. Does any1 else agree with me that this is the case ? I think he is so confident because he knows Stern will have his back in game 7, that's the only explanation. He has not said anything about his terrible performance or whatever, like he doesn't care. The guy has no heart, only talent by the way. He's spoiled, does not work hard and has no leadership qualities. The guy gets on his players like he's all that and he's nothing more than another Tracy McGrady. He quit on his team and was only happy when Gasol came, same with Tracy when Artest came. The difference is Tracy is open about it and tells the truth, most of the time. Kobe is a straight up liar and only cares about himself, all we need is one slip of the tong to prove this. Forget about Kobe, he's right up there with Tracy, Lebron, MJ and them. They all are arrogant pricks and will pay the price for it. I think around 80-90% of NBA 'stars' do not have good spirit and good character. They are good, everybody knows it but they like to show it, front with it and talk about it. They have huge ego's and that will never get you anywhere in this life. The real down-to-earth players have good character and are humble, like: Hakeem Olajuwon, Dikembe Mutombo, Yao Ming, Otis Thorpe, Kevin Johnson, David Robinson etc.
Limitless talent? WTH are you talking about. If Kobe would shoot less and pass the ball more, this series would have been over in 5. Kobe is no anti-hero.... the guy is reviling because he is a genuinely selfish sob.
As this series has clearly shown us...what does who is on your squad have to do with your effort?? Is it justifiable to quit on your team in Game 7 because your teammates are subpar? I never saw Hakeem quit. Our entire team right now has every right to quit...especially against LA...but they aren't. When he refused to shoot in the regular season, I believe Shaq and everyone else was on that team (i.e. one hell of a squad). He had a hell of a squad last year as well. For comparison sake, Dirk had less help in 06 than Kobe had last year. Kobe played just as poorly in the Finals (again, not for the first time)...but everyone labeled Dirk a choker....yet Kobe has heart? It seems like we make exceptions for him that we don't for other players. Again, everyone else that I can think of with that resume while being the man gets labeled a choker.
Thank you for the factual correction, as you can tell I didn't follow his Colorado issue that closely back then. But back to basketball, let's kick his butt tomorrow.
Brilliant mind gamer that Shane Battier is. BTW- AB... Tiger is a poor comparison. Tiger plays an individual's sport. Well, maybe it's a Freudian slip of a comparison... because Kobe's biggest weakness is the meaning of TEAM.
True - MJ got on his mates, but I don't recall him ever goin' upside the head to one (I could be wrong though)
