I can't find a link with an acceptable source for the D n D but it is a tragic story. Google his name for more information. MSM is silent.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...hot-cycling-yard-north-carolina-a9667566.html This is a tragic and senseless murder. Any details on why the neighbor did it?
My only guess is he thought the gun was unloaded. He had dinner with the family days before the murder.
It’s sad to see life taken so young but is the mainstream national media supposed to report every single murder in this country?
A 5 year old shot in the head point blank for riding his bike in a neighbor's yard? Mental health+ guns.
Sadly, you can likely find horrible senseless murders in every city across the USA on a daily basis. Why is this in D & D?
Yea.... if he gathers his buddies, chases him in a truck, and shoots him. This incident screams of mental health issues.
As of this morning, when I last checked, a search for Cannon Hinnant turned up zero results with the New York Times, the Washington Post, Reuters, Yahoo News, NBC News, and ABC News. As of this morning, ABC didnt have it. I read about the story yesterday morning.
So now we know why you posted this in D&D. If it was a white dude shooting a black kid because he was black, it should be news. If it was a black dude shooting a white kid because he was white, it should be news. If it is a white or black dude shooting a black or white kid because of mental illness, it should be on the news. But not for the reason you're stretching for...
If murders of this sort are part of a larger pattern that is meaningful to our society at a national level, then I agree that it warrants more widespread national coverage. The only relevant pattern I can take from this is that we have a culture that is way too casual with guns. Outside of that, not sure what to make of it. Need more details.
Unfortunately, senseless gun crimes are all too common in the US. Glad the shooter is arrested. We are all against shooting children and in favor of those responsible for shooting children be arrested, are we not? So is there something to be debated here?
As a parent of a five year old, this story hits close to home and saddens and angers me. A young life was taken way too soon for no reason and his seven and eight-year old siblings saw it happen. That image will scar them for life. Also, I can’t imagine the grief the parents are feeling, especially knowing they opened their home and befriended the person that murdered their child. All because the five-year-old child accidentally rode his bike on his neighbor’s lawn and the neighbor may have mental health issues. Finally, people need to realize guns are not a toy, and it’s best to always assume they are loaded if you aren’t 100% sure. In 2010, the teenage brother of one of my friends at church accidentally killed himself on Easter Sunday. His dad had left his gun out, and he was fascinated with them. Thinking it was unloaded, he pointed it at his face and pulled the trigger. It was a stupid and tragic decision.
Local news. We all know that blacks commit murders at a higher rate than other races. The BLM movement is a farce. Yes, poorly trained cops are a problem. But the racism that yall want to believe is behind these police crimes just isn't there. Cops kill every race. I think a story where a kid gets murdered like this it is more newsworthy than the George Floyd case. Maybe it wasn't thread worthy and we should go back to the "was trump inappropriately touched by god" thread.
