Durham - they have Wake Forest, UNC, and Duke there, so you know they are big on basketball. They have all of that tobacco and hi-tech money floating around, and they could have a pro team back in NC, but not in Charlotte where they had problems before.

Why do people have to have a brand new pristine facility in order to come to a game? If you want cushy chairs, stay home; if you need a waiter and bar nearby go to a resturant. Only thing you need for a basketball game is a court and some bleachers!

True, but people aren't going to pay $300+ for a ticket unless you get those things. If an owner can be profitable by not having those teams and still put out a winning product (sign top players etc) then that'd be true.

Since NBA is a big money business, then you have to find a way to make that money. Those most able to provide the NBA with revenue it needs demands those things, thus the owners complies.

    Gyeah Right.........

You start cutting players' salaries, thats how u instantly become the NBA's toilet.. No sooner than that is said, players would be heading out the door... equals sorry performance.. Then even less revenue from ticket sales, thus snowball effect... Itll take FOREVER to raise enough money to build a stadium by themselves.. Why do all that?? when theres probably a City like OKC that's willing to put in tax money? NBA is business.... and NBA knows they have some leverage.
