You can assign any car to an EZ TAG account with its license plate numbers temporarily on hctra.org

"We recommend you buy a new EZ tag when replacing a windshield...blah blah blah."

    THAT'S IGNORANT!

In other words, we want your money.

You can buy a tag at HEB that you can upload as much as you need to with a card or by paying in store. Its called BancPass.....that being said, i took one out of an old car and put it in a different car and just updated the license number but that was years ago.

Forget EZ Tag. Get a Texas Tag. Works on all the tollways in TX. And there is ZERO cost for the sticker. I think EZ Tag (Houston's tag) has a $10 or $15 fee. Texas Tag sticker is free. I ordered mine online and received it in 2 days.

    https://www.txtag.org/en/home/index.shtml

Harris County Toll Road Authority is greedy. They are the only toll tag that charges for the sticker. NTTA (Dallas) and TxTag (Austin) are free, and both can be used in Houston.

Just take the plates from your old car and put them on your new car. That way you can use the same EZ TAG, use the same inspection sticker and not change your insurance information. [IMG]

I had my windshield replaced on my old car and took the ez tag and put it on the new one and had no problems.

You're pretty much guaranteeing the Rockets lose if you buy a new tag. Just keep the old one.

I don't know how they did it, but my tag on our car still works after getting our windshield replaced.
