Saw Yao Ming doing his Black Friday shopping

    I was in the Best Buy at I-10 and Bunker Hill about 15 minutes ago checking out PS3 games when just all of a sudden, who should come walking up behind me but Yao Ming!

    I stood there starstruck for a second before I dumbly managed to spit out "Hey Yao, how's it going?" He sort of half-grimaced, half-smiled and grunted in response... he didn't seem to thrilled to be there.

    He bought a set of these (PS3 Monster Cables):

    that means he'll be leaving for <insert team here that wears blue> soon!



    crazy you would think he would have people to do his shopping for little things like that. Especially when he would stick out even if he wasnt a NBA all-star and then on top of that on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.


    I am disappointed that Yao was going with the component/optical cables when he should be going with straight HDMI with his PS3. Sigh get with the times big fella its not like you cant afford HDMI.

    also who buys cables in stores anymore? overpriced!

    Yao brought component cables for PS3? That doesn't sound like a good gift idea. At least buy HDMI cables.

    Lol, did anybody notice the person that Yao obscures, even when bending down? You can see the foot and part of the leg.

    =) gr got to love the cell phone cams. You should have recorded a small video of the encounter. Traffic to get to that best buy is hell, and I live less than a mile away!

    :eek: I agree. I would have bought that for a PS3 if I didn't have HDMI at my parents' house. Some people just think everyone has the latest and greatest and can buy their parent the grea... wait a minute... he's YAO MING, not SwoLy! :eek:

    Besides, he's at the PLAYSTATION 2 aisle... not at the PS3 aisle... man, do I want a PS3 so bad... :(
