Tell that to the angry hoards roaming the BBS calling for Morey's head because he "fired" Adelman for not using his stats.
"I ask people to have faith in the process and judge the results, not the name." Since Brown would be the biggest "name" out there, I am betting he isn't even a consideration.
Tell me again - how many losing seasons does RA have with the Rockets? I believe the answer is none. Yes, the losses are there but this is a winning coach and we're ****ed for not keeping him.
do not want larry brown. he took the bobcats once to the playoffs in the east during his tenure. i dont remember how he faired with the knicks.
I too think that both Adelman and Morey are too smart to part way for the things the official lines are saying. For those who say Adelman wants to "win now", what do you mean by win now? Win a championship now? I don't think he's that stupid. He knows that without getting an elite player or two it's not possible, and he knows that getting an elite player is what Morey has been trying to do, and he knows that it's extremely difficult. YET in all appearances, Adelman said repeatedly he wanted to come back and coach THIS GROUP OF PLAYERS. The idea of Adelman wanting to leave Houston to chase a championship NOW is BS. For those who say Morey wants a coach who totally embrace the stats approach, do you think Morey has some stats analysis on coaches who use analytics and coaches who don't? As smart as he is I am pretty sure he does. The bottom line of the whole stats thing is to measure performance. Morey values both players like Battier who uses stats extensively and players who don't but play well. There no reason to believe that he only values coaches who use stats for coaching decisions.
The GARM is full of conspiracy theories and the like. This avenue seems to be the most believable one, IMO. Of course, unless an insider confirms it we'll never really know. An another note, I like emjohn's comparison: Adelman probably did feel this way. Between this and not having enough "say" in roster moves, it likely sealed the deal. Translated: he and Morey may have respectfully disagreed on some issues, but it was never bad enough to the point where they couldn't work together. Whereas, the discord between coach and owner was the real dead-breaker here. At least that's the way I see it.
