I wouldn't do that. Maggette wants 15M. Brand will get paid more. How the heck are we supposed to have payroll flexibility by acquiring even bigger contracts? Esp when those two were the cornerstones of a team that basically did jack squat outside of the season Cassell played out of his mind.
Are you serious? I have a very hard time believing that Morey would ever turn that down. Seriously, if KOBE BRYANT could have been had that easily, do you really think he wouldn't be here right now? I have hated on him for so many years but over the past few seasons I can't help but respect him. NO WAY does Morey pass on the closest thing to Michael Jordan in favor of a declining superstar with constant injury troubles. NO WAY! A year ago when Kobe wanted out and I was asked if I would trade T-Mac for Kobe, I said no. Can you imagine what it would be like to be the GM who turned the MVP down? I expect Morey to be smarter than that. I would take Kobe in a heartbeat now and so would any other NBA fan with at least a 2nd grade education.
It takes two to deal, not just a twoferone. But, in trade riposte: Howbout: Howard/Terry - TMac. Hmmm?
Yeah right. With T-Mac's health history, the Lakers weren't going to do a trade straight up for T-Mac. And if it were true, then Morey didn't trade T-Mac for a reason. Remember, this is the stat guy we are talking about. I honestly don't think we would have made the playoffs with Yao out and Kobe running the show. Have you seen how Kobe plays with little to no talent on his team? Shoot, shoot, shoot, thinks of passing, shoot and shoot. T-Mac have proven he can do more with less.
