les i m wrong, the last time Rox were champs, they had MadMax on the team, the "Sasha Vujacic" of his times, streaky to the utmost.

he's definitely emotional, sometimes a little bit overboard, but it is what it is.

I like how he basically rolled out a red carpet for pierce to the basket at the end of game 4.

Nice to read a Smeg post, especially one I agree with this much. We would totally love this guy if he'd started with the Rockets.

Sasha gets too much attention and is a bit of a ponce, but he's got game. Very sensible player for Kobe-led team and the triangle offense. His matador meltdown aside, he's a better than average perimeter defender.

    Ummm....what?

Vernon Maxwell was a certified badass.

I think a lot of you are misunderstanding me, hence for example, the Maxwell reference. My criticism of 'The Machine' does not stem from the intensity and tantrums. There's plenty of guys out there like that. My criticism is of his complete personification of douchebaggery - the hair, the theatrics etc.

I'm actually a bit insulted that someone would compare this guy to Mad Max. There's a tad bit of a difference between showing intensity and butt humping your man down the court but being embarrassed when your opponent actually cares (see: Rafer, Ray Allen) and being the guy who held Michael Jordan to his lowest head to head ppg average and Dan Majerle's worst nightmare.

SmeggySmeg is a dork. ok ok. Alex did shut down Ginobody. That was fun to watch.

haha....that so stupid it's funny. for instance, do you realize MadMax set the NBA record for most points scored in a 4th quarter--30! That's a whole different level of "streakiness" that Alex will never approaoch.

Scola's hair is a nightmare. Every time my wife watches a Rockets game with me, she wants to reach into the tv and hand him a bottle of shampoo and a brush.

You must hate Scola too.

That's just the way they are taught to play while growing up in Europe. Think of soccer. Every foul is embellished

Sasha needs to be drop kicked for wearing that short order cook head rope.

I could watch this all day.

yeah no you are right, Wade, Kobe, TMac, Duncan, Carmelo etc must have all grown up in Europe too, they all act like they had a limb chopped off when they get fouled too.......

flopping occurs on both ends of the floor, not just plays trying to draw a charge and by players all orgins

Sasha plays hard and physically ([HP dork mode on] Oliva Newton John would agree[HP dork mode off]), seems to pass the ball well to the guns on his team and can knock down a reasonable percentage of 3s..... As HeyPee said I'm way too dorky to hide my love for the machine....... sign him up Morey......

the rockets need more of the players that we love and opposition supporters hate.. who do we have right now that opposition supporters hate.... rafer.....they love for obvious reasons (he helps the rockets opposition win), Yao and TMac they love cause they are so nice and unreliable bacause of injury and a lack of a threat, Battier is a nice guy, Landry is a nice story, Deke is amusing, maybe Scola could be disliked, but he needs to be more cheap first and have some bad facial hair..........

    more douchebags please

I think Sasha is a pretty likable guy off the court. I recall he went with Yao, Pippen, Vlade, etc, to China last offseason i think. There's a video that was shown during halftime and on YouTube in which Yao and Sasha were having a good time together.

No way does he come close to Sura... both his testicle combine doesn't equate one of Sura's testicle. He's like that annoying ass chihuahua that doesn't know when to stop barking and biting ankles.

Come on guys, let’s be “Fair and Balanced ™”

--the way he wears his hair

--his ugly ass attempt at a beard

--his ADD play and floppy antics on the court

--the girlie tantrums after the play is dead (see video clip)

--that fact he chooses to be called a girls name (he could go by Alex, or Alec or Zander, or just Alesander—which is not far off from Alexander as in like “Alexander the Great”, who aside from perhaps a few experiments in his military camp has some macho/I’ll kick your ass connotations with the name)

All I can say is I hope for his sake he never does anything to put him in San Quentin or Folsom because their would be a new model of perpetual torture that even those guys in the Dark Ages hadn't thought up. Particularly once the Lakers lose this series.

All seriousness aside, I wouldn't mind a free agent run at him. Young and upside as a decent (annoying to opponents and modestly effective) role player. For sure I hope someone makes the Lakers pay out their behinds to keep him if they can’t get him away.
