Agreed. Not sure how that comparison came about. Sasha atleast has some game. Pretty decent handle for an NBA guard. Can hit an occasional 3. He's just a complete douchebag.

Luther Head on the other hand is not a douchebag. But his ball handling makes Malik Badiane suddenly not look so raw any more.

I didn't even mention Sasha's sudden temper tantrums or the fact that the guy gave himself the nickname "the machine." What a douche.

I actually like him as a player. He plays solid defense, can shoot the ball, and brings constant intensity. I wish some of our own wing players could actually give a crap about defense, players like Alston, Head, and yes, T-Mac.

I actually have some respect for his hustle and ability to hit a nice percentage of 3s.

But then the news broke that he gave himself the nickname "The Machine". And like I said before, you don't call yourself The Machine when you don't shoot near-50% from 3 or at least is among the top 3-5 3-point shooters in the league.

Then you'll love to know that, before he was even drafted, he said "the NBA needs Sasha Vujacic" as if he we some young phenom 4 years ago.

    Yep... he's a big ***
He's one of those players that you'd love if he was on your team, but hate if he's not.

(ie: Bruce Bowen... Scola and Battier might even fall into that category)

I think the nickname gave him a bad rap, now he can't live down...(okay and all his follow up acts of douchery along with it)

There are reports that Laker announcers Joel Meyers and Stu Lantz gave him the nickname & he DIDNT give it to himself. And that Vujacic is a likeable guy off the court. That could be just a Lakers protective move to defend their players from looking bad....

He reminds me of, say in football, when the coach says Give me the guys who WANT to play and give A DAMN! Who's gonna step forward?...he's like the guy that was 3rd string but always hustled hard in practice that says "I'm down, play me!" and becomes a guy a coach thinks he can depend on cuz he showed heart and "go get it" attitude...

If he came up with the Rockets he'd be close to Bob Sura type favorite.

    Word.

If we could rate NBA Dish threads, this'd be about 50 stars.

I would stop rooting for the Rockets if this guy was on our team. Only for the duration of his tenure here and I wouldn't pick another team to follow, I just couldn't root for any team that Vujacic graced with his flopping presence.

If they go through with the whole punishing flops thing next year, his work visa's going to expire.

Everytime I see him on tv I want to punch him in the face. He just seems like a classic a-hole in real life. What a loserrrr.

How fitting his Matador defense on Ray Allen caused the Lakers to lose. I love how he tried to play it off by "showing emotion" hitting the chair once he got back to the bench. Acting like the punk he his. Same dude that didn't want to look like a punk by Rafer in front of his Serbian tv when Rockets played Lakers on National TV.

I think you're thinking of Ivan Chiriaev.

Players like him are a big part of the difference between the Rockets and other teams in the league. Vujacic isn't all that good, but it capable of coming up with the occasional big game. The Lakers could ride Kobe and Gasol, and then when Odom and to a lesser extent, Vujacic, Farmer, Fisher felt like showing up too, it was on.

The Rockets just don't have guys who could have a sudden 20 point break out game. It's good in that our players are consistent, but especially in a playoff series, the other team knows exactly where our points are coming from, too.

put me in the minority, i like his game too, love his intensity and work rate, be more than happy to have him as a rocket, and with the back court we have would be a big upgrade

battier and scola both flop as much as anyone else, and TMac throws him arms around like he has been shot to draw a foul, not sure why exact Sasha would be worse......

not sure what douchebag has to do with, winning is the key.... maybe thats part of the reason we aren't winning, too much niceness and handbags and not enough douchebags

He has been dreadful in the last 2 games, 3-19 from the floor and 7 points in 42 minutes. 1-10 from 3Pt range.

He's a streaky shooter and he's been ice cold for the last 2 rounds, except for 1 game.

I think he's a decent role player, but needs to understand his role. He's not a playmaker, not a ball-handler. He needs to hustle and harass on defense, and make open jumpers off of penetration on offense.

both of you are wrong; stop with that falsehood.

"The Machine" is a nickname that the LA Broadcaster, Stu Lantz, a former Rocket, gave Sasha, after he had a hot-streak over a 10+-game stretch where he shot over 50% on his 3-pt shots

that explains why we have never advanced past the first round of the playoff in the 21st century
