SAS wants the Lakers franchise to be good again that bad. But it won't happen so fast. Father Time won't budge.
Hype is when you are talked about a lot and then don't deliver anything tangible. KD has delivered an MVP, two championships, and two finals MVPs in a very short period of time, while making it look very easy. He was added to the best team ever, and now you're adding Demarcus Cousins who will be the youngest of their legit Big 5. These are all tangible things. The Lakers are what you would call hyped.
He doesn’t get paid if he’s right or wrong He gets paid to just say things It’s amazing in this year 2018 People still don’t understand
That is because people dun care that he is getting paid. He succeeded in getting a reaction from ppl. And ppl are there for the reaction. Cycle. There are enough who dun react, that is fine too. Drama entices Drama.
The state of current sports journalism, at least in the mainstream (ESPN), is actually really sad. With click-through rates and other tracking metrics widely available, its clear that from a business perspective, ENTERTAINMENT, not actual journalism, is dominating the industry. You're not getting any real commentary anymore, you're not getting any insight that requires actual thought, your're getting loud personalities spewing controversial hot-takes that will drive revenue. SAS, Skip Bayless, Kellerman, Cowheard, etc. should all be taken for what they are. They're entertainment personalities, not analysts. They know exactly what they're doing, and they're getting paid well to do it. It's sad, because while it is a complete joke, it actually does shape the way the league operates. There's no way in hell LeBron goes to LA if the Lakers were treated like an actual lottery team by the media. But the fact that its "The Lakers" made his latest decision one of the most polarizing moves the league has seen. From a basketball perspective, it's awful. One of the all-time greats essentially threw in the towel early so he could cash out. But anyways...that's an entirely different point. The only way this will change is if people stop falling for ESPN/FS1/etc. click-bait, which is unlikely. I'm not sure about the content of The Athletic, but it seems like they could actually be legitimate. Actual sports insight lacks mass-appeal unfortunately, so a paid subscription to something like The Athletic is likely the way to go for real, well-thought out analysis. It really is a shame, but that's just the world we live in now. TLDR: It's not worth getting upset about takes like this. These guys are paid entertainers, not analysts.
This guy has never said anything smart in his life. The whole network is full of idiots. Whicj is why I dont watch espn really anymore. The only person with any sense on the network is Will Cain.
Dude I know how the media game goes. So calm down and go start up another 90's thread or Tmac bashing thread.
Clutchfans does not know 1. the media game 2. 90s hip hop 3. Tmac never got past the first round for the Rockets and was not in same league as Kobe or LeBron
And in Kellerman's case they can flip flop like no other. They dun owe loyalty to any organization. FWIW the Rockets could have won that last game (at home and players were pumped even without CP3). It looked like a Fifty fifty coin toss before that game with roster advantage GSW.
Now that Harden has proven himself as a true MVP and led the Rockets far into the playoffs He will completely erase McGrady from Rockets history one thousand years from now, Clutchfans would know more about Max Kellerman than Tmac
