She was the Governor of a state in this country but I'm not a fan of hers at all. Frankly, I despise the folksy, simplistic nature and manner she comes across and I in no way feel she would be a plausible candidate.

But every single thread about her has photoshopped images, sexual innuendos and the like.

I just find it ironic how those that feel they're so progressive and against any racial or sexual oriented slurs can just constantly say such demeaning things about a women that has never had a whisper of promiscuity, extramarital issues or such in her family life.

It shows that just as ultra conservatives do, nutty leftists are mean spirited fascists in their own way as long as its their candidate.

I appreciate your concern trolling, however, there was nothing sexist in what I wrote. "Naked ambition" is a frequently used phrase that has been applied to many people (probably mostly men and mostly politicians) and anyone with a basic amount of literacy understands that it does not carry a sexual meaning. Palin does have a lot of ambition and it is naked in the sense that she is too dumb or impetuous to hide or even shade it from view. After all, who would give the go-ahead to a two hour hagiography about themselves? Someone with naked ambition, that's who.

Here's one of the definitions for "naked" from the dictionary:

    Nothing about sex there.

Here's a quote from a review of Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room...

Admittedly, I played off the "nude scenes" comment to make the point, so I can see how some people given a proclivity to view everything in terms of sex and mommy issues might think the way you do, but for most people it was a simple statement of fact devoid of any sexual connotation.

The thadeus' comment was funny because it was rooted in popular movie culture and the absurdity of there being any nude scenes in a movie about a politician, made by that politician, for that politician. (Besides, I thought The thadeus was referring to Todd anyway.)

If you are seeing sexual innuendo designed to denigrate Palin and make her a sexual object in either one of those two comments (mine and thad's) you must be the one desperately looking for them. I only want to make her an object of ridicule.

Yes, she was the gov of one of the least-populated states in the union for almost (but not quite) two whole controversial years before running for VP. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. She was picked for two reasons: she looked the part and was female. So I'm not going to deride those who choose to mock the reasons she was chosen, because those reasons are ridiculous and worthy of mockery.

Really? Every thread? The only photochop I see of her in this thread is the "My Life" one (brilliant, by the way), and that ain't exactly pr0n.

And being lectured about sexual propriety by the guy who posted in the thread entitled "Hottest Indian Chicks" is rather amusing. FYI - did you know many women consider the term "chick" sexist?

    Or how about this gem?

    Or this?

You're no better or worse than the rest of us.

    Except she has.

I like your verbiage: "ultra conservatives" vs. "nutty leftists". Why not "nutty right-wingers"? Your attempt at taking umbrage is showing your political bias.

And sexist = fascist?!? Wow, that's a pretty big leap in logic...

I don't care for Obama or Palin but one could take the above and say:

Yes he was a first-term state senator with two whole controversial years before running for President. He was picked because he looked the part and was half black.

I'm not some politically correct person and i'll make crude jokes and such all the time. But I never act like I come from a progressive stance against racism, sexism etc. I'm just pointing out the rampant hypocrisy on both sides of the nutjob isle.

She was Ethics Commissioner for the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. As part of this job she managed to bring down parts of one of the most corrupt political machines in the country (by attacking Republicans). How did Obama handle all that corruption surrounding him in Chicago?

No, you couldn't say that at all.

Obama was elected three times as a state senator (~8 years).

Obama was a one term US senator and was in that office for four years before becoming President.

And nobody picked Obama to run for national office like McCain picked Palin. He did it himself and did it against long odds defeating Hillary and quite possibly the best political mind (Bill) of our generation in the primaries and then winning by a large margin in the general election.

The people of the United States voted for him for President. He was not picked because he looked the part of a President (he didn't and still doesn't to a lot of people), but he was elected because more people wanted him to be President than McCain.

Nope. Sarah Palin has never been convicted of any ethics violations. Including troopergate:
