How many draft picks go along with the above mentioned packages? Mango ------------------ Spring Cleaning!!!
Trade FODDER?!?! Dude what are u smoking. We need a small forward or a power forward. He can play both. If we get rid of Cato and Walt and picks and other players for Raheem, we still might have money left to offer Webber. Right? ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! Shareef Abdur Rahim is a whiny b****. How could just throw away his legacy in Vancouver like this? After all the city had done for him? What, he thinks he's bigger than Vancouver? What a punk. Lets trade for him. ------------------ Hey now, Hey now, don't Dream it's over...
Rahim, Webber, and Haywood in the same frontcourt? ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
I hope you're not talking about Brendon Haywood, the North Carolina center!? That guy is so freaking soft, and he may be getting away with it in the NCAA, but when he gets to the NBA he will get POUNDED! Haywood will be the next Acie Earl, or Eric Montross, or Ike Austin unless he suddenly gets super tough by the time he is drafted. ------------------ Dream a deadly Dream. . .
Achebe PLEASE tell me you're not saying that Rahim is trade fodder and should come off the bench! I tried to look and see if you were referring to something else. Rahim definitely would be welcome, trading Mo in a deal for Rahim would defeat the purpose of getting Rahim, that is to strengthen our frontcourt. A frontcourt of Rahim, Mo and Dream to start the second half of the season! I'd take that! And then when Dream's contract runs out we would have SERIOUS cap space to chase Webber, and don't you think that Webber would be SERIOUSLY interested in a team that has young, superstar talent like Francis, Mobley, and Rahim on it, and possibly Shandon as long as he hopefully exercises his option in his contract!? I would think so! ------------------ Dream a deadly Dream. . . [This message has been edited by RocksMillenium (edited February 09, 2001).]
There is NO WAY we get Webber if SAR is here... Unless we clear some serious cap space ala Orl last sumemr... If we get SAR, and Olajuwon bolts, we'll have prob 3 million or so under the cap... Some sucker would have to take on Cato or Walt's salary (if they aren't in an SAR trade)... With that having been said, would you guys rather have SAR and Olajuwon, or Webber by himself? Sounds like a tough scenario for the Rockets... ------------------ Check out my homepage! Loads of sports pics! http://www.public.asu.edu/~sykim/
if i wouldnt mind saying so myself..how do we lose cap space if we trade walt/cato for reef(there salaries match up..at least within 15%)..now if we add bc to it then i understand so then we might lose a little but with dream opting out..wed still have at least 10 mil under the cap(capologists help me out here)..plenty for cwebb..plus if he sees himself, rahim, francis, mobley on the same team hell wise up and come..ill say this right now even if we dont get rahim..ill still say cwebb will be a rocket after the offseason and even if we get shareef then its more likely he comes..so either way we win. ------------------ How Sweet It Is! REEFer. ********************* btw, REEFer would be trade fodder in the event that webber wanted to facilitate a sign and trade for sacramento's benefit. we would just pass the REEFer on to sactown. that's quite a joint to pass around, huh? sure, we'd lose our SF, but so what? we'd just go back to shandon at SF w/C-Webb at PF/C. now who wants some of this REEFer??? Even though i would love to have SAR, i think the chances are not great that vancouver will make another trade with us, Unless we overwhelm them with an offer. I say the only way they do the deal is if someone also takes on big country's contract. Grizz. are not in a hurry, and they will listen to offers made by many other teams and some may actually take Country but hopefully it's not us. The best we could offer them is Cato/Taylor/Anderson Langhi Kenny Thomas 2 future first round picks ------------------ Baseball is wrong, a man with four balls can't walk.
I watched a grizzlies game a few weeks ago (I found one whole bar w/ league pass @2100st and 1100east for you Salt Lakers). Rahim doesn't impress me that much to be honest. Besides, why pay Rahim 10 million dollars per year? The CBA was meant to drive contracts down. His contract is ridiculous for what he provides. Also, there are SFs a plenty in this draft. That w/ the fact that Rudy has been preaching a family oriented style makes me think that the team would lose a bit of respect for him if he were to abandon Shandon in a trade for Rahim. Rudy had to have said some nice words to Cuttino to get him to sign for below market. Bringing in a 'franchise' player that can't get crap done w/ the rest of his lineup in Van. at $10 million per seems like a bit of a joke to me. ------------------
If Houston lands a stud SF, they would have a better chance of attracting Webber out of Sacramento. Otherwise, I don't think Webber will leave Sacramento. SAR is a stud SF. What would it take? Francis and now SAR? From a PR standpoint, to their fans and the rest of the league, Vancouver would have to get something great in return. A potential stud C and draft picks. ------------------ "Breaking up is hard to do...[with] everyone trying to make it a parting befitting all the professionalism that came before. Isn't Rahim averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds a game? I'd take that! ------------------ Dream a deadly Dream. . .
But achebe, if he didn't make $10m, we couldn't match him against Cato and Wizard's contracts. Besides, I like your first post in this thread better; he's trade fodder for Webber. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited February 09, 2001).]
hey guyz im sure its juss a honest mistake, but let me correct you: Danforth will not be traded. You dont trade a relatively cheap gem ( a future all star ) for a 10 million dollar player that will demand the rock and at the same time ruin the little chemistry that this team does have. ------------------ Lookin at a 75 year old man in a thong: NASTY Lookin at Shaq hit free throws: "O SH**!"
oh yeah partner, must remember 'trade fodder'. In that light, break the bank. If NY, ORL or HOU gets SAR, there's a chance they'll later get Webber. Mango, if Van sends those contracts to Miami for disposables, I'd say that Van gets two first rounders this year. ------------------
rockets can get rahim, then in the offseason trade him for Cwebb? ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Not me! I understand Rahim could be traded for Webber. But I wouldnt exactly consider him "trade fodder"! ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! To point out individuals or teams that have managed to reach the pinnacle of SUCKINESS!!!!! ----- GIANTS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Francis3, Why couldn't we trade him? We are suggesting that Shareef is sign-n-trade fodder for Webber. This would likely put us in the #1 negotiating position for Webber (ie we could pay Webber more than any competing team, and the Kings get a star in return). There would be no BYC issues to worry about, because we would have cap room necesary to take more spam from the Kings to make it work under BYC rules. I say, do whatever it takes to get Shareef, then sign-n-trade him for Webber this Summer.
anything Partner? Would you trade either Shandon or Maurice? Perhaps it's a good idea to trade Maurice (though if you're stuck w/ SAR, Shandon's redundant). It seems as if Maurice would be more apt to ask for $$$ if he saw SAR making $$$. ------------------
